Over the weekend, our Academy participated in America's first ever Muay Thai Development League for adults, teens, and youth. This league is something I wished we had 20 years ago as it helps to build the technical abilities of a fighter interested in competing, but also helps provide a better understanding of scoring and judging criteria (as opposed to just wanting to knock people out). All of our students were mainly first timers who have had no prior experience in getting in the ring, but the training we provided from our Academy clearly set them up for success as they displayed their knowledge of offense & defense, but looked pretty darn good doing it as well! The @muaythaidevelopmentleague is great addition to this sport in order to educate the masses of what true Muay Thai is supposed to look like, and also what the culture is supposed to be. Lots of smiling faces, zero ego, and everyone goes home at least 1% better. Thank you to Kru Patrick @kru_pat_209 for organizing in Chicago, @fusionacademyofmartialarts for hosting, and all members who competed this weekend! Can't wait for the next one! #muaythai #muaythaitraining #muaythaifighter #nakmuay #nakmuayying #chicagomuaythai #jeffersonparkchicago #norridge #melrosepark #northwestsidechicago #edisonparkchicago #muaythaichicago #portageparkchicago #northwestside #muayfemur #padwork #fighter #gymlife #gymrat #chicagothaiboxing #chicagothaiboxingacademy #chicagohellbows #chicagosoidogs
