Full disclosure, having fun here playing around with speed to see what falls off in a training environment—I missed an entire target and a few shots. I’m wearing my tactical belt with extra pistol mags shoved in a rifle pouch bc it be like that sometimes your pockets are full of snacks

I’m seeing an improvement in how I move but one thing falls off here and there..it’s just a journey of continuing to iron things out until they show up consistently and with speed

My vision is a big issue right now so that’s my focus the next few weeks as I gear up for nationals @thetacticalgames

Competition & LIFE will show you a lot about your relationship with yourself.

It’s easy to love the experience when everything’s going your way.

But what happens when it doesn’t?

Can you struggle without turning against yourself?
Can you be disappointed without questioning your worth?
Can you celebrate others without comparing yourself?

You don’t have to love every moment of the experience to love yourself through it.

Day job certainly kept me occupied this week…

Started off single dad while @gohokies01 smashed the @oxfordhalf with @goldenstatemusic. Still managed to stay on the plan though and seeing results across the board.

Heavy lifts courtesy of stupidity, ibuprofen, and cortisol ✅
Finally got the dogs back at day camp to wear them out ✅
A month late 110 story stair climb ✅
Got coined by the VP at work ✅
Bonus: learned the exact free market conversion rate for Uncrustables sandwiches (varies by flavor) 🥪

The last time I completed a 110 floor climb was pre-heart attack and many years ago, but also took 15 minutes longer. I’ll have to try this in gear next week solely for the challenge. Anyone want to join?👨‍🚒

Longer clip of a quick session we fit in last week to start working on blending and movement. A few bad habits I’m working on breaking:
🛑 standing straight up as I move into a position
🛑 leaning to see a target (losing my dot and missing)
🛑 slow visual target transitions & needing to pre-aim through the barricade.

Training generally looks like this for me: showing up at the range with a plan, run specific drills and pushing speed to expose issues in my fundamentals, isolate the fundamentals to make the correction, then pressure test the drills again the next session.

Another day at the mill…
Started bi-annual reviews at work, lots of stress, lots of cortisol…really messing with my mood/motivation.

Leg Day B - Split 2 DONE ✅ over 100k lbs?!

Decided I needed a little more structure my development towards USPSA and MAYBE other competitions.
