I passed the Bar Exam on my first try. It wasn’t about doing everything. It was about doing the right things consistently. I broke down what I used, how much I completed, and how I reinforced weak areas. If you’re in bar prep, this might save you time and stress. I also created DISBARRED: The Card Game to make legal learning more engaging. Buying a copy helps support students studying for the bar and law school. Let’s talk about studying for the Bar… Comment your favorite course/materials 📚 Whew Chile…idek know where to begin. 😅First and foremost, lemme start with this. There is no one-size-fits-all method or course when it comes to studying for the bar. The Bar Exam is a KILLER and is merciful to no one. 🥴 There isn’t a perfect formula or study plan that will work for everyone! There are so many humans in this world who synthesize and absorb information differently ! With that being said, that means there are hundreds of ways you can study for the bar and pass. The key is finding what works for you. Here’s a list of materials that worked for me. Feel free to check them out! Jd Advising - I swear by them. They know exactly what to do. && they are really good at keeping their info concise! I did not take the official course but I used their tutor, outlines, jd predictions, one sheets and MBE bank! Critical pass - these are Flashcards you don’t have to make! Save yourself the time. Barbri - Honestly, taking a barbri course was NOT it for me. Barbri provides you with A LOT of materials and it easily overwhelmed me. I didn’t know what to focus on! I also felt like their daily study plan was anxiety-inducing especially since I could never catch up with the lesson plans. Not to mention, each subject involves you watching a 4 hour lecture. 🙃 Making your own flash cards - don’t do it. Period. It’s time consuming && bar prep is more than memorizing. Adaptibar- I’m not going to say adaptibar is bad cause it’s not! The website is easy to use, they have real NCBE practice questions and I love how you can pick and choose your strengths and weaknesses. They also provide a detailed explanation if you get the answer wrong. Uworld - another favorite! Again, talk about being concise! They are great at it! And I LOOVVEE how they give you visuals. They give you graphics to help you remember the black letter law and it stuck with me like glue!! #barexam #barprep #lawschool #lawyer #lawyers #blacklawyers #blacklawyer #criticalpass #study #studying #lawgrad #lawgraduation #uworld #jd #jdadvising #laurrylaw #blackgirlsdolaw #lawstudent #lawstudents #becomingjd #instalawyers
