I’m so beyond excited for this year’s CritWitchCon! 🥳 I feel so connected to this year’s theme: Fallow and Feral: Active Paths of Rest, which feels so timely right now. Anyone else feeling super exhausted? 😴

I’ll be leading a workshop on Saturday about spiritual overwintering, a practice I use when burnout, stress, or chronic illness requires me to take a break from my magical practice.

You still have time to get tickets, plus access to the recordings to watch back later! Visit the link in @criticalthinkingwitches bio to get tickets now!

I bought this sticker today because it seemed oh-so-very appropriate. I’m going to be part of a panel at @criticalthinkingwitches Critwitchcon September 4-6. The panel is “Shadow work as rest” and I’m incredibly excited to chat with some stellar folks about such an interesting idea.
.
Loving my disavowed shadow parts has been such important work for me in the last year, and I wouldn’t be who I am now without it. Love every part of yourself folks, especially the parts about which you were lied to and told were unloveable. #shadowwork

It's that time again where I talk about the hard work of my magical forest of friends! I am part of @criticalthinkingwitches , a groups that explores and celebrates the magical world while still keeping our critical thinking hats on and with one foot grounded in actual history and science.

We host CritWitchCon, a 3 day virtual event with talks, panels, workshops, and community time. Our schedule will be up by August first, but some of the folks joining the party are Diana Rajchel, Ysha the Activist Witch, Benjamin Stimpson to name a few. Early bird tickets are on sale for 2 more day!

In 2026 our overarching theme for CritWitchCon is "Fallow and Feral: Active Paths of Rest." We're talking at length this year about the importance of rest in trying times, ways to incorporate fallowness into the cycles of our practices, disconnecting productivity from worth, and straying off the path to find meaning in the messy, unstructured places outside of the lines.

We also offer scholarships!
Check out @criticalthinkingwitches for links!

We are looking for vendors! Vending at a virtual event? How does that work? Well, you get this:
*Full access attendee ticket to the Con in person and recorded for later viewing!
*Advertising during the Con (during breaks, as slides and information) and during upcoming Brews For 10 months (from Con to Con)...
*Featured on the CTWC website
*Inclusion in CTWC Social Media
*An optional channel in the Con Discord Server (like a table in an Exhibit Hall) to interact with attendees during the Con. Links, images, special, videos, etc.

Still not sure? We host quarterly FREE events we call Witch's Brews that explore a specific topic. The next one is:
Saturday August 8th, 2026
10am PST / 1pm EST / 6pm BST / 3am AEST (August 9th)

The one is about the magic of sports and gaming! I will be giving a talk on who baseball is the most magical sport. There will also be discussions on mascots as servitors, and how to turn a board game into a magical device!

This workshop is kind of a dream come true. In fighting environmental apathy, we're going to explore a bit of animism, and how building relationships with various denizens, whether blades of grass, rocks, the air, or even your walls is an act of care and reciprocity that makes the world more magical. This is the first time I am giving an in-person CTWC Brew! It is part of the programming for the art show I helped put together, called Through This Fire.

This is one practical step we can all take, getting to know our environment, for free (!!) that can help us reconnect to our ecosystem, and each other in our daily actions. Inspired by adrienne marie brown's emergent strategy, these intentional connections ripple up and out through our society.

Lee of Do The Magical Thing and fellow co-organizer of CTWC will give a talk on the animism bit (they are a witch historian!) and I will share resources for connecting with our local environment. Following, we will go to the park across the street to make those connection and make art about it!

If you're not in Montreal and really want to do this, the on-line Brew is Saturday June 30th at 12pm EST. Check out @criticalthinkingwitches for online tix, and @throughthisfire for in-person tix!

If you're curious about the wider world of CTWC, dip your toes with me on Wednesday, then meet the community I've helped build with brilliant friends and folk over the last 6 years Saturday online!

Thank you!! Bissous!
