It’s been hard to put into words what Dar Cafe meant to me — over 3 months out and I’m still processing how my dream came true and was a success in every way. We were open for 8 weeks and somehow had over a dozen regular customers. I accidentally made the best banana bread ever and then got sad when people loved it more than the other pastries. I honed down some recipes I want to bring to the rest of Boston. We took over an empty space and made it feel like HOME while we were there. I’d like to think I invited more people to see what Arab food can be (comforting, homey, vegetable forward, and wholesome). I’m forever grateful to every person that showed up, each of my dear friends logging hours behind the counter despite already working full time jobs, my dream team, our artists and events collaborators, and the ever supportive staff at the @cambridgefoundry. It’s because of all of YOU that I got to work the most meaningful job I’ve ever had. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Photo credit to the ever talented @birdonfilm

WE LAUNCHED🥹🚀☁️💫 • THE FIRST GATHERING • What a special & unforgettable evening. I didn’t just want to host an event, I wanted to intentionally curate a space I once needed as a creative Muslim girly. A space to be seen. To express. To be bold. To connect beyond the surface. Where community feels safe & creativity feels limitless. To be a cultural bridge… filling in the gaps. And now, I get to build it with all of you💕. Ahhhh!! Alhamdulilah. More to come inshallah! Welcome to the HAUS. Where couture meets culture, & creativity meets community. #hausofcultoure #creativecommunity #bostonmuslims #bostonevents #culturalbridge launch event women who create muslim creatives entrepreneurs change makers

Thank you to everyone who attended our beginners crocheting class at diversity consignment @diversityconsign facilitated by Aya @crochayaa 🧶 We had a thoughtful session on how to start crocheting and was guided with a presentation to explain to us different steps. All creatives need to have an outlet for them to be able to try something new and as a photographer, I found this activity very helpful for me although I was new to this, and it could be stressful at points overall it was a nice learning experience!

Yesterday, March 21st marked our final day at 361 Huron Ave as we gathered in celebration of Eid. We’re grateful to Spencer Buell, Lauren Albano, and Erin Clark for this Boston Globe story that captures this moment for our community - holding deep grief, and still choosing to come together for one another, for our children, and for joy. Thank you for everyone who showed up yesterday, and those who sent their love from afar. This isn’t the end of what we’ve built. If you feel called to support the next chapter, our crowdfunding campaign is now live. Link in our bio.

From a couple students questioning the lack of awareness in their school to creating and selling pins their community could wear and then finally hosting a pop-up. We’re so proud of what we’ve accomplished in four months and really appreciate everyone who’s supported us ❤️ 🖇️ We’ve met a ton of incredible people in the community, collaborating with some (@crochayaa) for our pop-up, and we can’t wait to do more! 🇵🇸 All proceeds were donated to @aneraorg but there’s still a lot we can do until Palestine is free so stay tuned. #freepalestine #lowellforpalestine #youthvoice #artispower
