The only blessing that comes from tragedy is reuniting with loved ones, in this case my beautiful cousins❤️ We went years before connecting over the phone during Covid to say our goodbyes to their dad, our Uncle Sonny, and in-person for the first time in almost 20 years when they came to our dad’s funeral last year. My heart has been so full this week after spending the day stuffing ourselves with sushi and starbies, catching up on life, shenanigans, hobbies… everything. The best part is, after all that time, we didn’t skip a beat! Love you guys so much!!!❤️❤️❤️

Dope, a song that has a very special place in my heart, turns 10 in a little under two weeks. and as the members of BTS come home from their conscription, i would like to take just a moment for a bit of reflection & love.

sometime in the winter of 2014 i came home to kate and declared, "check out these gangster 12 year olds" and made her watch No More Dream, We Are Bulletproof Pt2, & Danger. it was mostly against her will, but she's always been a good sport about things i want to share, and the memory of the fun we had that night after work has stuck with me.

i have a fuzzy recollection of I Need U being released. i know a lot of people would count their "first comeback" as the first video they remember being released, but for me it is the first one i was looking forward to, excited for - not just a bystander of. and for me, that was Dope. those closest to me will know pre-Wings BTS is where my heart truly lies. i will always count myself as a DARK&WILD enthusiast. i was a Spring Day anti when it was first released because it was just a bit too far off of what i wanted of the group.

but as i look back on this beautiful, wild rollercoaster that the last ten years have been - from daesang to the UN, from underdogs to favorites - i think that, in the end, i am happy to have been along for the ride.

here's to 10 more - wherever the road may take us. 💜
