We made the Podium! 🥈

So proud of this lad; I’ve been coaching Arthur for the past 18 months out of @crossfit3d, and got to step into a pairs event with him this weekend @hybridnw.

My first taste of a hybrid-style comp and I’m broken today - he can’t half run 😮‍💨 and dragged me round the Hyteens comp.

This boy is going places, best of luck @hyroxyoungstars in Oslo next weekend!

@hybridnw such a well-run event! 👏

Well done to @morgz_optimal_performance and Chester for taking the win, you guys were ⚡️

One of the main mistakes I see on kipping pull ups is breaking at the hips too much.

Yes you want to use your legs to help you get your chin over the bar but by breaking at the hips then you will have a very disjointed movement.

And you will eventually rely on your arms too much and you’ll fatigue quicker too.

We want the sequence to be toes, hips then arms (all happens very quick).

We don’t have to be holding an L-Sit when you are at the top of the pull up bar so drop them legs.

In this video I use a PVC pipe as a constraint to not bring the legs higher than needed.

Want to level up your gymnastics? Drop me a message and start working towards better skills 🫡

The kip swing is the foundation to every gymnastic movement on the bar.

This is a little snippet of focusing on the positions and shoulder movement when doing kip swings on the bar during @crossfit3d Gymnastic class.

We are focusing on the pull ups but we spent the first 30mins of the session just getting a good feel of the hollow hold and the arch hold even before we touch the bar.

Do not overlook the basics.
