CAT’S OUT OF THE BAG // Well, we’ve been keeping something under wraps for a little while, but we’re pretty darn excited to finally introduce our second business, @crossroad_k9!
.
After years of breeding and training British Labradors almost exclusively for hunters, we started getting approached about the possibility of putting our dogs to work in the scent detection world. From private security to public safety, we quickly realized there was an opportunity to take the dogs we love and put them to work in a whole different field.
.
We’re starting small, just like we did with Rockin’ B. Our goal is to place two puppies into detection work this year and hopefully six dogs next year. We’ve never been interested in being the biggest kennel around, and that philosophy won’t change with this venture either. Good dogs, good people, and doing things the right way will always come first. Plus, having our dogs make a difference for public servants keeping people safe is pretty darn cool.
.
One thing we’ve learned along the way is that the people you surround yourself with make all the difference. We’ve been fortunate enough to meet some pretty incredible folks who believe in what we’re building and have gone out of their way to help us get this thing off the ground. We’re beyond thankful for those relationships, and honestly, that’s one of the most exciting parts of this whole adventure.
.
Rockin’ B Gundogs isn’t going anywhere. We’ll still be doing what we love, training dogs, chasing birds, and spending time with the people who have made this little community so special.
.
We’ve got some exciting conversations happening behind the scenes, and we’re looking forward to seeing where this road takes us.
.
If you’re so inclined, give @crossroad_k9 a follow and come along for the ride. We’re just getting started!
