A small selection of some of my fave photos. The 6 months of planning was worth it, what now?

The rest of September was relatively chill, with the Big Work Change coming to conclusion as well as a few more courses to upskill myself - ‘Equipment Room Awareness’, which allows me to visit many of the interesting signalling rooms around the network, and ‘Individual Working Alone’, which is a Traffic Hours track certification allowing me to access some of said rooms! This also meant getting to see a few ‘new’ parts of the network, most notably the Stratford training centre, which has a vast array of signalling things including what I understand to be the last Westinghouse V-style interlocking machine built.

I couldn’t resist one last photo of Vienna and the older trams that are not long for this world, as well as the ‘Haring Cross’ takeover of the main ticket hall at Charing Cross Tube station. This was a particularly fun activation, with free art also being given away!

October was a month of shows - well, _some_ shows - notably the Songs for a New World concert, a return to @hadestownuk to catch @thealliejoy as Hermes and it turned out one final trip to the Jungle to see @choirofman, which closed its doors at the Arts Theatre a week or so back. All three of these shows have a pretty special place in my heart, and it was nice to share these with close friends! Prior to CoM me and some friends also did a ‘beer bus’ cycling tour around Central London - this was great fun and a great work out! And then culminated in cocktails… well, you can imagine how well things went. 😂

I probably should say something about the new DLR train too. Well. There.

A quieter post, perhaps, but no less busy - there was a LOT going on that I can’t post about!

August brought sun and vibes with the now-traditional @overstudiesblog BBQ, AKA my official birthday (like the Queen I am x). This is always one of my highlights of the year, getting dressed up, hanging out with mates from all my different circles and just generally having the best time! Sadly this is the last time we’ll be having it on the roof, but I already know the 2026 vibes are going to be impeccable 🥀

Can you work out everyone’s costume?

April into May brought (obviously) more travel, more trains, more work milestones and more adventures! There was a big, Top Secret adventure that will get its own post, but we started out with an exclusive opportunity to #CatchTheD on the @gwruk battery operated D-Train!

I also managed ‘acquire’ an ITV mug, diseaseled at @chinnorrailway, visited and played with more lever frames at Chinnor and @ltmuseum, came on the podium at the work social and got the tramp stamp of my dreams from @safewordbysophie!

More railtours, more travel and more @onourlines Stations of the Month followed and, although I didn’t know it at the time, I had one of my last visits to Tramland. It’s very weird that that chapter of my life has closed after nearly two decades (I can’t talk too much about this at the moment unfortunately), but endings also provide space for new beginnings. I’ll miss some of the people, but I’m not missing the politics, the bullshit and the not-so-closeted transphobia.

I also went to see @twotw_official twice because who doesn’t need some ULLA! and flame throwers in their life?!

The month was rounded off with a track walk around Harrow with a couple of my work besties. I was fortunate enough to be able to upskill myself in a few areas this year, one of which was to gain my Operational Manager license allowing me to take staff out onto the track. It’s an incredibly nerve wrecking process, but it was a successful night if chilly!

⚡️Hosting my first HOME POP-UP COFFEE event was such a special experience!

☕ It was incredible to finally meet in person those I’ve only connected with online—turning virtual conversations into real-life connections. A big thank you to everyone who made this possible, from those who helped bring the event to life to those who showed up and shared their time and energy.

Looking forward to more opportunities to create, connect, and build meaningful relationships.

Grateful 🙏🏼

I could make this post really long but I will do my best to keep it as short as possible, focusing on the most important aspects.

This year was the best year of my life so far, by large...

Kicked off with my passion for art in form of photography 📸
Went places I've never been and captured unique moments 🧳
Tried many things I never knew I could do ✅
Met so many fantastic people 🤜🤛
Collaborated on many projects 🤝
Developed many new skills 🧠
Achieved amazing results at the gym 💪

Thanks to everyone I met on my way this year who helped and supported me through the bumps!

In 2024 I will continue with the same approach and I will find ways to take things up a notch so the future me stays proud of past me and so that present me can experience MORE LIFE 🧬🧬🧬
