POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

A polite Long Island native visited the garden yesterday, a rare occurrence. The turtle reminded me that home is carried wherever one goes, just like this visitor is doing. It provides a dome of protection, in which slow and steady progress can be made by tapping into one’s inner strength - not always the easiest thing to access. @crow.walk once suggested I imagine a golden dome above my home and garden. It would bathe the place in a protective glow, enhance resilience, and heal. It has.

Every year, around the July 4th holiday, I see a box turtle here. It walks on ground that shouldn’t be mine to begin with. Long Island is a brutal, toxic place. It’s the quintessence of the American reality in more ways than most. Dichotomies abound — financial , cultural , political. But it’s also a beautiful place despite the toxic residue left by its development. That turtle just provided me with a reminder to stay grounded in my sense of spirit and self. Given the state of the world, my dome may soon be moving a lot faster than that turtle’s. Enjoy the holiday week !

*joie de vivre*

Multiple truths can coexist.

It can be a terrible world filled with anguish and suffering.

And.

There is joy in being alive. In play. In whimsy. In art. In beauty. In love.

May you your eyes be open to the magic around you and your heart open to receive it when it arrives.

Sweet Jeffrey: "T̶r̶y̶ T̶o̶ Make The World A Better Place"- In this photo and previous photos you would see me wearing a mala necklace with rose quartz (love) and carnelian (passion, vitality) beads. It was a necklace Genevieve gifted me over the summer and what I was eyeing for a while. And before giving me the necklace, she helped me reconcile with my inner child. It was last month but a year ago. I was attending another Full Moon ceremony and I saw her but she was understandably grieving. I saw being comforted by @meghanrrose. Something in me told me to grab my selenite wand from my backpack and wave it around her, which did help in a way. I didn't realize at that moment I was channeling myself from high school. That kid that would notice a girl crying and wouldn't hesitate to get a tissue for them. That kid who cared about others more than himself. But after more than 3 cups of Venus (@goddessofluhv)'s cacao (which I don't recommend), I realized I was subconsciously abandoning him like how he felt abandoned years ago. Similar to how Genevieve was comforted earlier that night, I was comforted by Venus and other attendees, especially @crow.walk. Then following that night and for the rest of 2023, I not only continued to heal myself but also that inner child. It made sense that the moment between us happened that March, especially last month. It's now been ten years since what happened my senior year. It coincided with the ongoing turmoil in one of my communities. All the reactions and emotions I've seen from the community were reminiscent of how I felt ten years ago. Those similar feelings of sadness, disappointment, rage, and frustration. Also that lack of guidance which I'm now providing for him and others, especially inspired by one of the mala necklace's mantras: "I act with power and love to improve my world," For some reason, it reminded me of what my English teacher Mr. Romano would encourage us: "try to make the world a better place," That's why my inner child is now here with me. Not only I act with power and love to improve my world, but t̶r̶y̶ t̶o̶ make it a better place.
