🧿I did a search on how to break a hex, and almost every result suggested a salt bath… maybe some essential oils (I personally love lavender!) I’m just not sure how you can fit an entire organization into a bathtub. 🛁

The Miss USA pageant curse is undefeated. I’m not privy to all the details, so it’s not fair for me to comment on it. Not everyone is entitled to an opinion on everything, especially on matters we’re not entirely well-informed on.

📌 I know two things for certain: I want good things for Miss USA. It’s sad to see something you have enjoyed & supported for the better part of your life be entangled in years of nonstop drama.

💔The other thing I know is the loss we’re all feeling. A few of our longtime legendary Miss USA state directors have chosen to step down this week. Three incredible leaders, and former USA titleholders, with a heart of service so valuable in enriching our system and the lives of so many women.

👑 @brittdarapowell devoted herself to every young lady who entered her pageants, and helped shape them into successful women. She is a motivating force in inspiring others to live and lead our lives with purpose, just as she’s devoted her life towards. (Don’t get me started on all of her generous work with shelter dogs! #rescuesrule 🐾) ♥️Thank you, Britt. 👑 @mprocprod is a class act who is revered by the entire industry, which is a testament to her leadership. So many success stories as a result of her guidance. ♥️Thank you, Melissa! 👑 @kimberlynicewonder89 …30 years as an exceptional state director. It didn’t matter if Kimberly had 60 entrants or 20, she’d book THE most lavish, palatial, stunning theatres- which put any nationals venue to shame! That epitomizes her as a state director. She never sacrificed, always went big (her state judging panels truly rivaled that of Miss Universe pageant) and she established a real family with every titleholder whom she housed within her fantastic program. ♥️Thank you, Kim!

Ladies, we’re all wishing you continued greatness in your future endeavors. This pageant won’t be the same without you! 💐

Six months ago...

Thinking back to April/May of this year, I have nothing but gratitude.
Imposter syndrome is REAL and timing is such a nuanced thing!

The idea of "winning" has been drilled into me since I started dancing, but it is not the be all end all. This title is so much more than just a crown, sash, and a 1st place trophy. This title was a push (maybe more of a shove) for me to actually make a difference around me.

When my friend showed me the @northernvirginiamag article for the first time, I was absolutely at a loss for words. When @nbcwashington reached out to me for an interview, I was honestly shaking.
I have learned so much over six months, and I know there is so much more learning to be done. I am just happy to say that I am proud of what I have been able to accomplish so far.

Thank you to @fairfaxcountypublicschools @oaktonhs and @nicewonderfulproductions among SO MANY others for your endless support 🫶🫶🫶

From reaching top 20 at Miss Teen USA to attending local appearances, every step is so important to me!

I never understand why I always end up making my captions so cheesy, but it is what it is haha 🧀
