A magical quali, our first podium of the season in race 1, and then two more to polish off the weekend in races 2 and 3. CoTA truly is something special and to do it all in front of the WEC crowd during Lone Star Le Mans was simply surreal

Two wins and a second place finish for @mikedardin at the final round of Radical Cup.

Really successful weekend coaching for Mike. This was his first @radical_cup race this year. He hadn’t driven this track in 10 years but by the end of the weekend he shaved off three seconds. Huge congrats to Mike and thanks to @crownconceptsus for a winning car.

Solo set for one of my favorite cars from Monterey Motorsports Reunion!

I don’t know many people who don’t enjoy seeing a Shelby Cobra, especially on track. This one, owned by Jim Click Jr., was in great racing condition, with @billyjracing making quick work of the circuit.

What a memorable experience. I had the privilege to drive Don Roberts No.89 Cobra at this year's Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion during Car Week. This is the winningest Cobra in history and is owned by Jim Click, who I met at Laguna Seca 19 years ago.

Jim gave me my first ride in the faster "GS" class, which was the first Mustang I ever raced, was my introduction to Ford, Jack Roush Jr, and was a major launching point in my career.
.
I can't thank Jim enough for the opportunities he has given me over the years, and it was so special to drive his historic Cobra, back at the track we met at years ago. We had a solid two weekends, winning all 4 races after great battles with a badass Split-window Stingray and Ford CEO, Jim Farley in a Cobra, who I drove with to race wins in the past in his Lola. This weekend will be one to remember.

Speed isn’t just about driving harder. It’s about thinking differently.

One of the points I talked about on the Motorsport Prospects Podcast is something I believe strongly: the best racing drivers are creative.

You’re constantly dealing with changing grip, traffic, tire degradation, setup limitations, weather, pressure, and situations you didn’t plan for.

You can teach technique. You can study data. You can prepare endlessly.

But when the situation changes, the driver still has to solve the problem behind the wheel.

That ability to adapt, experiment, feel what the car is giving you, and find a solution is a huge part of driver development.

A weekend of what could have been…

Race 1: P6
Race 2: P5
Race 3: DNF

It was mixed conditions all weekend in Road Atlanta between wet, dry, and both. Test and practice sessions were spent dialing in setup so I could send it no matter the conditions but pulling out of pitlane for the start of race 1 we encountered an electrical problem due to the water causing the engine to go into limp mode and the engine eventually dying. The team was able to reset the ECU but because of how long it took I missed the start of the race and would spend the rest of the time a lap down. Instead of racing we spent it trying to put on a good lap for starting position in race 2. Was enough to start us P4 in class for the next one.

In race 2 the car came alive. Nailed the start, kept our position and closed on P3 every lap. A super wet track had the car moving all over the place but we were on a mission for our first podium of the season. With 2 minutes left in the race we were 4 tenths of a second behind P3. I saw a mistake and tried to capitalize but it was misjudged by me. I nailed the throttle and put 4 wheels on the very slippery curb of turn 5. It held for a second but the rear stepped out and sent me spinning. Ultimately costing me a chance at the podium and the position we had. Gutted, I crossed the finish line in P5

For race 3 the next day I would start P5 on the grid. We nailed the start, started closing on the cars in front and right as the tires had just barely come up to temp, my throttle stuck coming into T7. With the car barely slowing for the corner, I cranked on the steering to keep it out of the grass but it was no use. car ran wide, slid on the wet grass and sent me into the wall. The damage was limited to the rear end aero and bodywork but was severe enough that I could not continue the race.

Overall we had potential for multiple podiums this weekend but it wasn’t meant to be. Regardless of our misfortunes it was an amazing weekend and I had a great time getting out there and being in the fight. Huge thanks to everyone at @crownconceptsus for doing everything they could to give me the best car possible.

We’ll put it on the steps at Lime Rock no doubt!!
