@croydonwfc is a grassroots club built on community - offering women in South London a competitive, fun and supportive place to play football.

Founded in 1991 as Bromley Borough, the team won the league and FA Cup double in both 1996 and 2000, and produced legendary players including Hope Powell and Debbie Bampton.

After disbanding in 2000, the club made its comeback in 2019 and has been rebuilding its footballing home in South Norwood ever since. 💪

Today, the First Team competes in the South East Counties Surrey Premier Division. 👏

Keen to support your local women’s football team?

Come along to their next home game this Sunday at 2pm, at Croydon Sports Arena. Entry is FREE, so grab a mate and get behind the team!

You can also support the club by picking up some merch, or if you’re a woman looking to get into football (or get back into it), contact them about joining.

Whether you’re an experienced player or just starting out, there’s a place for you with the Trams. 🚃

Following on from yesterday with our first Speaker announcement - former Lioness and forever trailblazer, Kerry Davis!

We’re delighted to announce that former England international and Lionesses legend Kerry Davis will be joining us as a speaker at the BAMREF Conference - get tickets to see her and more to come now: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/bamref-referee-conference-2026-beyondtheceiling-tickets-1988334035625

A trailblazer for women’s football, Kerry was one of the first Black players to represent England Women and finished her international career with an incredible 82 caps and 44 goals, making her the Lionesses’ all-time leading scorer for many years.

Having represented England at major international tournaments and enjoyed a distinguished club career in both England and Italy, Kerry’s story is one of resilience, excellence and breaking barriers in the game.

We can’t wait to see her at this year’s conference!
