The last two years have been so full of lessons and I have gained so many and lost a few. Completing my masters while teaching was not easy but was the best way for me to truly become a master of education. Throughout my two years I heard things like “Alex what are you actually getting your masters in?” “Do you really wanna spend a lot of time in the classroom” “what about leadership or being a superintendent” and honestly maybe at some point I will want to get there but now is not the time. I teach because of my love of students, my belief that service to students is essential to the longevity of a community, and the magic of seeing children grow academically and social emotionally. I love to teach and I’m so thankful i was able to better my craft in and out of the classroom . Thank you to every student, parent, and co teacher for everything i have learned thus far in my profession🤍

From roots that tell stories to coils that defy gravity. Our crowns are our rebellion. 🪮

In today’s political climate, embracing all assets of our essence is more important now than ever.

The Black woman is the most disrespected, underrepresented, yet the most replicated. From the lips to the hips, to the aura and vibe. It’s time we reposition the narrative around the mane attraction!

“Can’t Touch This” is a reminder that we own our narrative. We bloom where they tried to bury us, and shine when they tried to silence us.

For the girl who thinks her coils are “too kinky” or the girl who thinks her fro is “too big”, this is for you!

Be bold, be real, be you.
Black women, we love you!
