@crustmuppet update! Chouchou went in for his dental last week and had the vast majority of his remaining teeth removed. I know that sounds shocking, but given his wonky genetics and dental history, we absolutely did the right thing. Getting to this point has taken a lot of time due to his previous surgeries, and we’re so relieved to have this behind us.

If you know his story, you know that he’s had issues with his mouth his entire life, and Persians are predisposed to dental disease in part because of their brachycephalic anatomy. Many of Chouchou’s teeth were affected by severe tooth resorption and ultimately had to come out.

For now, we opted to keep the one healthy canine he has left, along with some of his tiny nibblers. They may very well need to come out in the future, but for now, he’s still got a little something to work with.

He’s almost entirely recovered at this point and is about 95% back to his old self, with the added side effect of a more prominent blep. Big thanks to Pacific Coast Vet Dentistry who did an amazing job with him & Birdie. 🤍

It's so cute seeing these two together again after they met last year. I'm not sure if they actually remember each other, but Baby Corn wanted to be wherever Chouchou was.

@crustmuppet is @kittenxlady and @thecatphotographer's cat.

Chouchou is really feeling himself after getting his summer shave…😅

Thank you @theshoresanctuary for giving him a better cut than the mom-cuts he usually gets from me!

Made it home after a great time teaching in Charlotte. This kitten season has been PACKED with educational events—I’ve been zipping around to a different state every week! I absolutely love it, but it’s also so so nice to come home to my lil Tenderheart family. 🖤

WELCOME TO CHOUNDERDOME

Despite what it might look like, @crustmuppet is incredibly gentle with all the foster kittens... but he takes every opportunity to show them the ropes! 😹 The two clefties have become good pals and are keeping each other company in our sunroom, which is Eliza’s new space until she’s adopted.

The Sillies, acrylic on claybord panel, 2022-2025.

I'm so happy I finally finished it! 🥹 103 silly cats are featured in this painting, about half are fan submitted cats and the other half are internet famous cats.

I'll be redoing the short videos for the first 50 cats so that they include a voiceover talking a bit about them (since I started doing that midway), so you'll still get more Sillies videos for a while yet! :3

I will be starting another group cat painting with a different theme after a break. Check out the submission guidelines on my website for some of the themes I'm thinking of!

Thank you to everyone who submitted their cats for consideration, I hope I get to paint more of them!

I have prints available in my Etsy shop of the finished painting if you'd like a copy! 💖
