A QuickTrip home to Celebrate the Life of the one and only Mr. Jim Bird. I got to see a few of my favorite people (missed the lot of you) and reality check what really matters.

Home is where your heart is and I’m lucky I have a lot of hearts in a lot of places. But Atlanta, you did something to my spirit this time making it even harder to leave. The South is calling me, not sure when I’m supposed to answer. The thing with God and I, he never gives me much lead time, it’s a push and when it’s time to go, I go.

The Rossers were one of the first families I ever professionally photographed! It blows my mind that I’ve been doing this for almost eight years and it warms my heart that I’m still working with families I started with. 💕

Turn your volume on ten, and vibe with me...😎
("Where We Come From" : #lecrae)

On this historic day I would be remiss not celebrate our First Black Madam Vice President @kamalaharris . 🍾 #chucksandpearls

I also wanted to use this platform to celebrate all my Black Queens 👑 who are first at something in their respective right and continue to advance our culture. 🖤

As a Black man I support, I appreciate you, and I stand with you!

Continue to persevere!

I apologize to those who I left off the tag...

Today’s the day!! I remember after my mother died, people would ask, “what can I do,” to which I would ask very earnestly, “can you bring my mom back?,” to which we both knew the answer. Then I would say, “then you can do nothing for me, please leave me alone,” with the fine attitude of a teenage asshole. They wouldn’t leave me alone, but they understood (I surmise) my plight and my pain. I was 19 years old, a freshman at college and had just lost the only person in the world (besides my brother) who understood me and never judged me for being me, authentically.

Today, I am participating for the first time as a Small business owner, in a pop up to raise awareness for the very thing that took my mother from me 18 years ago. How? How did I manage to get to where I am today? I know without a shadow of a doubt it’s the people who didn’t leave me alone, who didn’t give up on me, and who held my hand when I couldn’t find my arm. It’s because my mother, Cynthia Geneva Lawson, was a pillar...a force beyond her years, who instilled in me the determination to never give up. 💜

Now, at 37 years old, I realize she never left and those people, my WE people, did bring her back to me. They brought her back to me by bringing me to myself.

Today, @i_am_candles_by_ace is thrilled to be part of the @flowertruckla pop-up with my family @hirshbergfoundation to raise awareness on National Pancreatic Cancer Awareness day. Thank you to everyone who purchased candles to support this mission (we had to place two more shipment orders as a result so thanks for your patience and love!)

Mom, thank you for the WE people, angels on earth, you placed her for us to thrive. Today, today is for you!!
