Meet Crystal Lewis Johnson!
Crystal is a hairstylist, salon owner, and firefighter who believes service comes in many forms. Whether she is behind the chair or supporting her community in other ways, her passion is helping people. Community connection is at the heart of everything she does!
Come see & learn about some locals that I have photographed during The Joe Center for the Arts SIMS (Step Into My Studio) event going on now! I am teaching a week long photography class during Photography Week this week.
And I am discussing a bigger project with The Joe about photographing more locals for a special project. If you have a story to tell or you have a special connection with the Gulf County community, I want to hear about it! Get in touch & I will put you on my list!

Ever seen a firefighter look this glam?! 🔥
@crystal_hairslayer is half of the A Team over @saltairbeauty. She is AMAZING at all things hair & specializes in helping people with hair loss. When she’s not doing hair she is another one of our Gulf County Volunteer Firefighters with multiple certifications!
Give her a follow to see her blowouts, extensions, cuts & colors! 💇🏼‍♀️

Tim needed some new headshots. But he also asked me if he could bring his firefighter gear & get a photo in it. Heck yeah!
Did you know? The entire Gulf County Fire Department is made up of volunteer firefighters at 11 different locations. Think about that. Not a single paid firefighter. I hope none of us ever need their assistance, but surely we can all appreciate their sacrifice when there are fire emergencies. Like the 2 homes on the cape a couple weeks ago. I asked Tim what his motivation was to take up such a serious, dangerous community service. Among other things, he said it seemed like the right thing to do. After witnessing him put on all this heavy protective gear, it definitely gave me a renewed appreciation for his sacrifice. Imagine working in that gear in this Florida heat, & add an out of control fire to that. These men & women have huge hearts to take on such a heavy assignment.
