“roads go ever ever on,
over rock and under tree,
by caves where never sun has shone,
by streams that never find the sea;
over snow by winter sown,
and through the merry flowers of june,
over grass and over stone,
and under mountains in the moon.

roads go ever ever on,
under cloud and under star.
yet feet that wandering have gone
turn at last to home afar.
eyes that fire and sword have seen,
and horror in the halls of stone
look at last on meadows green,
and trees and hills they long have known.

the road goes ever on and on
down from the door where it began.
now far ahead the road has gone,
and i must follow, if i can,
pursuing it with eager feet,
until it joins some larger way,
where many paths and errands meet.

the road goes ever on and on
down from the door where it began.
now far ahead the road has gone,
and i must follow, if i can,
pursuing it with weary feet,
until it joins some larger way,
where many paths and errands meet.
and whither then? i cannot say.

the road goes ever on and on
out from the door where it began.
now far ahead the road has gone.
let others follow, if they can!
let them a journey new begin.
but i at last with weary feet
will turn towards the lighted inn,
my evening-rest and sleep to meet.

still ‘round the corner there may wait
a new road or secret gate;
and though i oft have passed them by,
a day will come at last when i
shall take the hidden paths that run
west of the moon, east of the sun.”

[Part 2 of 2 cont. from last post. . .] This year I had a powerful growing experience with love and loss in one of the most powerful relationships of my life.

I also got to attend my 10th burning man. Then this Halloween, I got to hang out with all my favorite people again at their first music festival camp out in Moab. I also got to see the northern lights in the lower 98 states, and a comet that won’t be visible again to us in this lifetime. I got to see Pretty Lights and also explore hot springs in Mammoth.

This past month I’ve been able to feel like I am a part of something bigger while helping raise money for a fundraiser to help locals in Guatemala have better access to clean drinking water (link to donate in bio.)💧

Now I am headed back to Lake Atitlan to stay for the next few months.

Although this year was packed full of incredible moments, it was also full of some of the hardest challenges, darkness and heartbreak. I tragically lost a dear friend to suicide, while also grieving and adjusting to the loss of my sweet Grandfather last year, as well as a break up. The grief I’ve experienced has been heavy and transformational, reminding me whats truly important in life. Eternally grateful for all the help and support from my friends and family who have been there for me during some of my roughest moments, as well as shared in all the beautiful and amazing memories. Existance is a blessing and I’m thankful to be alive to feel all the ups and downs and all arounds. I’m lucky to have experienced many of the things I set out to do this year although I still have a lot I’m still working on. Miles and miles to go. Thank you for reading if you got this far. Keep alchemizing 🦋 and growing fam. ❤️‍🔥

With love, Vanessa 🫶🏽
