what a week in české budějovice 🤍

being back on an international start line, racing wildwater again, seeing old friends, meeting new ones and sharing these moments with so many amazing athletes felt pretty special.

after the last few months, I’m really proud of what I managed to put on the water. 54.76 on saturday, 54.76 on sunday — different days, different conditions, same time. definitely a weekend I’ll remember 😋

but the results aren’t everything. I’m just happy to have that feeling back — the adrenaline before the start, giving everything for one minute and getting out of the boat with the biggest smile.

so grateful for the people, the races, the laughs and all the memories in between.

happy to be back 💝

this year started differently than i had ever imagined.

i suffered a shoulder dislocation at the beginning of the season. what i hoped would only be a short break turned into four months completely away from paddling. four months without the sport that means everything to me. more than once, i tried to come back too early, and every single time my body pushed me back again. every setback meant being patient, starting over, and learning to trust my body again, even though all i wanted was to be back on the water. there were days when i honestly wondered if i would even race again this season. missing the selection races and, with that, the chance to qualify for scotland hurts. and i’d be lying if i said it doesn’t. but this weekend, i was finally back on a start line. my first competition after 10 months away from racing ended with a 6th place in sprint and a last place in classic. was it the result i had hoped for? no, not at all. especially in the sprint, i expected more from myself. but after everything that has happened over the last few months, i also know something else: a few months ago, i would have given anything just to be able to paddle again. this weekend, my shoulder held up through an entire competition. i was finally able to do the sport i love more than anything. and even though the results weren’t what i had hoped for, this weekend gave me something far more greater: hope. it reminded me that every setback, every tear, and every hard day was part of the journey. my comeback isn’t over. in fact, it’s only just the beginning. i’ll keep working, i’ll keep believing, and i’ll do everything i can to come back stronger than ever next season.
a huge thank you to @_zentrum_mensch_ and to my family and friends. thank you for believing in me, especially on the days when i struggled to believe in myself.

see you next season. 💛

That’s a wrap on the season! 🌊
This past weekend we competed in the World cup finale in Mezzana on the Noce which has always been one of my absolute favorite rivers.
I finally managed to put together a truly clean run taking the win in the sprint race and officially securing the overall World Cup title!

This marks my 48th World cup medal and my 8th overall title so I am incredibly happy with how everything turned out.
It wasn’t a flawless year by any mean as I made some costly mistakes and had a few moments where luck wasn't on my side but overall I'm very satisfied, especially with my physical preparation which was among the best I've had in recent years.

Now, it’s time to take a step back, recharge the batteries and get ready for 2027.
And for anyone wondering, NO, I am not retiring just yet! 😁
