The North Carolina High School Athletic Association (@nchsaa) presents CSD Executive Director Craig Smith (@craig_smith_1) and Athletic Director John Bellissimo with the 2026 Wells Fargo Cup...cup and banner! The recognition represented many milestones for CSD, including our 3rd time winning this award, the first as a 2A in the new Eight-Classification structure. Coaches, athletes and fans all celebrated this achievement before last night's 9/11 Rememberance and varsity football game. #NCHSAA

This week’s Jersey Mike’s Spartan Athlete of the Week is Jackson Hartsell for an incredible performance in the pool.

Jackson was crowned Regional Champion and State Runner-Up in the 100 Breaststroke, where he also broke the CSD school record at the State Meet in Cary, NC. He followed that up with another State Runner-Up finish in the 100 Butterfly and anchored the relay teams at the state championship, showcasing both his talent and composure under pressure.

As Men’s Team Captain, Jackson leads by example every day, combining elite performance with outstanding leadership to represent the Spartans at the highest level.

Thank you to Jersey Mike’s for sponsoring Spartan Athletics!

3rd place finish at my last states 😢🥉
This season has not gone the way I had hoped as i have been dealing with an injury for the past six weeks, I was limited on things I could do and had very little preparation for this meet. However, I am very proud of my perseverance going out there and competing not worrying about the outcome. I could not have been more pleased with placing on the podium and still receiving all-conference! Heres to getting healthy and ready for the next chapter ❤️🖤
