With pleasure I would like to announce the release of my first full length album.

QTK was recorded in 2020 in Denton, Texas.

It was the culmination of a very fruitful period for me as a guitarist and a musician.

It was the height of the pandemic but the abreaviated month-long Texas shutdown was coming to a close. I was contacted by a local venue owner if I would like a regular weekly gig starting the first day venues could legally open.

Over a 6 month period I dove deep into soul jazz. Listening, transcribing, learning, shedding, and each week bringing new music to my band and performing it live.

More than just a productive period of musical growth there was also a sense of urgency and a bittersweet feeling at this time. My time in Texas was drawing to a close.

The person who I am today was created on Texas highways. Pulling myself away was harsh but I was determined to document my work and capture that unique period of time on record.

During a single 8 hour session we recorded 16 tunes. 2-3 takes each, no overdubs, no splices, all performed live in the studio. A snapshot of the live sound that we had cultivated on stage over the course of many gigs.

With the session done I left Texas with the intent of finishing postproduction then releasing the music as soon as I was settled in Taiwan.

Like everyone else the pandemic slowed me down and it took way longer to adapt to Taiwan than I expected. The album took a back seat. After many ups and downs I've finally decided to just go ahead and release this music.

I'm proud of the way this recording turned out. And the musicians who recorded with me are some of my favorite people and truly killing cats.

Available on all streaming platforms.

I hope you enjoy
