Every time a Canadian athlete competes with the maple leaf on their back, they represent all of us. 🇨🇦

That’s why removing barriers and making sure our athletes have the exact resources they need to excel right here at home is so critical.

Today, I was proud to stand alongside Minister Gary Anandasangaree (@gary_srp ), MP for Scarborough—Guildwood—Rouge Park, to announce over $830,000 for the Canadian Sport Institute Ontario at the Toronto Pan Am Sports Centre!

This project delivers vital facility upgrades, boosts accessibility for Paralympic athletes, and explores affordable housing options near major training hubs.

Thank you, Gary, for hosting us in Scarborough and for your ongoing support for our local communities and high-performance sport.

Let’s keep building Canada Strong through sport! 🏋️‍♂️🚴‍♀️🏊‍♂️
…

🏋️‍♂️🚴‍♀️🏊‍♂️

Every athlete prepares for competition BUT who’s preparing them for everything that comes after?

That question is at the heart of The Bench, the Podcast and The Collective.

As an athlete, I experienced that transition myself. Later, working across sport, business and community, I kept seeing versions of the same challenge: we invest years developing athletes to perform — but far less preparing them to navigate what comes next.

So we’re starting with a conversation.

The Bench Podcast brings together former U SPORTS athletes, Olympians and High-Performance athletes to talk honestly about identity, purpose, transition, opportunity — and the people and experiences that helped them build their next chapter.

BUT THE PODCAST IS ONLY THE BEGINNING. We are building a Collective of former elite athletes to help the next generation to be successful in their transition.

We’re listening. Learning. Connecting the dots. And using what we learn to help build better pathways for the athletes coming next.

The game ends. Your potential doesn’t.

Take a seat. Welcome to The Bench.

🎙️ Episode 1 drops today, 8pm ET, on YouTube @TheBench.Collective.

🥉@ 🌍World Champs🇵🇱 in Parakayak for 🥳🇨🇦.
There’s a side to parakayak racing that most people never see. When the wind💨 picks up & the water🌊 turns unpredictable, our impairments become on display, & a HUGE obstacle in our race in a way that’s impossible to hide. 😔Today was one of those days, where I spent my entire race trying not to capsize, & the work my coach & I have poured in all year…had to take a back seat to survival to cross the finish line🏁⌛️

With the lack of function in our core & legs, we faced adversity on the water today in a way that can be genuinely scary and nerve‑wracking.

To all the incredible women paraathletes in my final: I’m so damn 🥹💜proud of each & every one of you. We pushed through chaos, held our ground, & got through one hell of a 🐴rodeo together.💪🫶🥰

The last six weeks with Speed Skating Ontario was filled with a lot of learning, a lot of laughs, and some pretty awesome energy.

Over the last 6 weeks, we learned how to Olympic lift, tested 1RM back squats, and learned how to plan our own training sessions.

But what I’ll remember most is the vibe we cultivated together.

Through curiosity, collaboration, and intention, we created a space where everyone could explore their skills and abilities, learn to fail and grow from it, and get comfortable being uncomfortable—because that’s part of the process.

A safe environment doesn’t mean everything feels easy. Sometimes it means having the support to try anyway.

Really grateful for this group and everything we built together. 💪🏽 I’m excited for more opportunities like this.
