Hey, I'm not able to get out to do my show today. I jacked up my knee a few days ago, and it is swollen and screaming at me right now. (The show is maybe half put together...and dang, it's a beauty for observing Indigenous Peoples Day. RAWR and OUCH.) Don't let that stop you from listening to KUZU.FM today (92.9 FM in Denton, streaming at kuzu.fm)

I'm back live on Monday for show # 2! This month our theme....SHOW UP!

I'll be playing mostly disco this month (my favorite) and we'll do a little deep dive on the origins of the disco movement and how the spaces it created were so important for people to show up as their true selves. No filter. No societal norms. Just people being people and grooving.

Join me on our journey this Monday from 6-7 PM on the airwaves in Denton at 92.9FM and streaming worldwide at kuzu.fm

Flyer background this month was pulled from the album cover for Instant Funk's self titled album. I applied no filters (just text). Aren't the colors so cool?!?

Catch y'all Monday!

TUNE HIGHLIGHT! Music Makes Me Feel Good by Sister Sledge

I really felt this song was a perfect fit for our Music Is the World theme this month and funny enough, while not the title track for the show, was a huge inspiration as to why I started Eat Your Radio. When we think about how music makes us feel and these memories that we associate with music, so many times those tracks become tied to our emotions as well. This track in particular is one that always picks me up and makes me feel good and that theme resonated with me when figuring out what in the world I'd want to play on the radio.

The 2nd Chorus:
Ooh, if the music
Makes you feel good
You should get up and move
Let the music
Make you feel good
You, you've got to groove

I think about that a lot. How I get so caught up in so many things. The music eases that a bit, and sometimes letting go and letting the groove take hold is all you need to release a bit. What songs get you groovin'?
