On the 21st of October, we bring ‘Your Death Is a Lullaby’ into the world.

Nothing Here Now and The Rest is Noise present the live premiere of Crawler’s new performance at Muziekgebouw as part of ADE Arts & Culture.

The evening centers around Crawler, the duo founded by Rachella Groen (Zohar) and Harry Castle. They are joined by writer gervaise alexis savvias, whose poetic work interrogates the logics of desire, explores the non-linearity of time, and critiques the infrastructures that dominate sociality.

Together, they ask who is permitted to be seen, understood, and what it costs to resist that
overwhelming demand.

Spoken word, live analogue electronics, cello, guitar, moving image and scenography are threaded together to present a temporal universe shaped by vulnerability, desire, grief and queerness. Post-industrial dub becomes both cutting tool and shelter, establishing a space in which resistance, protest and revolt can be felt long before they are named and uttered.

For this premiere, cellist Malou van der Veld and guitarist Rob Toal-Lennon join Crawler’s
pre-existing constellation. The performance also features a site-specific installation developed
with Studio Basse Stittgen and visuals by Clint Soren.

Adding to the programme, Nkisi will present an iteration of her BLK SPLLS performance, which
explores the spell as a protocol for transformation. Rather than representing change, the show is interested in the sequences of gestures, sounds and relations through which transformation becomes possible.

Rainy Miller, 2K88, & Bianca Scout’s performance ‘Everything Always Changes, For We’re Truly Here’ develops from a commission at Unsound. Their hypnagogic R&B combines sensual vocal hooks, free-flowing raps, submerged rhythms and rough atmospheres. Passing sounds and memories back-and-forth, the three contributors imagine melancholy sci-fi hymns, inverted pop songs and neo-trip-hop outlines that melt into a captivating rhythm of their own.
