Spotlight: Christian Stanley (@cstanleycreative)
Christian Stanley is an Orlando-based muralist and illustrator whose large-scale work is full of color, energy, and wildlife. Fish, birds, deer, manatees, dolphins, and other animals appear alongside bold geometric shapes and dynamic movement. The murals hold up at a distance and reward a closer look. He takes on commissions locally, nationally, and internationally, with pieces showing up on buildings, water tanks, and public spaces.

Christian Stanley’s two-wall scene is bursting with color and design. Not only were he and his wife eagerwhen they arrived and decided to paint not one wall but two, but they also had a sense of humor when the torrential rain stalled progress. Thanks @cstanleycreative for this dope piece!

Welcome, Main Street Maryland Conference attendees! While you’re exploring downtown over the next few days, be sure to look up, look around and take in some of the incredible public art that has helped transform our city into a colorful, creative destination.

From towering murals and colorful alleyways to pieces celebrating Hagerstown’s history, culture and community, there’s plenty to discover—all within walking distance of the conference! Several of our newest murals were even created as part of the 2026 @national_mural_awards hosted right here in Hagerstown.

📍Use these photos as your mini public art guide and see how many you can find while you’re downtown!

Grab a coffee, enjoy lunch at a local restaurant, explore our shops and take the scenic route between conference sessions. And when you find a favorite piece, snap a photo and tag us—we’d love to see #downtownhagerstown through your eyes!

Welcome to Hagerstown. We hope you leave inspired!❤️🎨

MONDAY MURAL:

This @cstanleycreative Christian Stanley mural was tough for me to capture since a couple of trees have filled out in front of it.

It’s massive at 65 feet tall by 125 feet wide and an egret instead of a swan which some would argue we see more of in Orlando. Gorgeous.

The mural is on the back of the Alexan Mills 50 apartments but it’s easiest to see from the parking lot of the shops on Fern Creek, just across Colonial.
