I am SO excited to announce I have verbally committed to continue my athletic and academic career playing D1 beach volleyball at Cal State Bakersfield! @csubbeach

First I would like to thank my family. Thank you mom and dad for helping me through this journey to get here, being my biggest supporters, and always pushing me to be the best I can be. Thank you to my sisters for going to all my tournaments and being there for the good and bad. I love you guys all so much!

I would also like to thank my coaches from Dakine who have been there for me from the start. Coach TJ, Coach Tony, Coach KB, Coach Kelsey, Coach Leona, Coach Chris, Coach Pasi, and any other coach that has coached me through my whole career. You guys have helped me become the player I am today. I couldn’t thank you guys enough for coaching and making every practice fun while also learning so much. You guys are the best!

Lastly, I would like to thank Coach Andy @andynjoyfulenwider and Coach Casie for believing in me, and giving me this opportunity to play at the next level!

Every player has bad days. Gets targeted. Feels like they're drowning out there.

Coach Andy Fulenwider's take on what separates a good partner from a passenger:

"If your partner's struggling, it sucks to feel stranded on an island alone. But if you're fine — your partner's on the island, and you've got the boat. Go get them off it."

A great partner uses every skill in the bag to reset their teammate, get them back in it, and move forward together.

This is the stuff coaches watch for. Talent plays its own game. A great teammate rows the boat.

If your daughter's being recruited, ask her: when your partner's struggling — are you the island, or the boat?

I am so excited to announce my verbal commitment to @csubbeach to play D1 beach volleyball!!! I am so happy that this day has finally come!! I want to thank my parents for putting all their time and money into helping me. They have truly helped me so much to become who I am today. I also want to thank @vb_coach_nicole for teaching me so much, @apeathletes for making me strong and ready to play, @speedsyndicate_602 for helping me with training, @volleycritic for always taking amazing videos and getting my name out there, @kamilah.inmotion.fit for pushing me and being so kind to me, and @alex.dale.758 for pushing me to work hard. Most of all, I want to thank @bribrink1 at @volleyforlifeaz. He has been the most amazing coach. I owe everything to him because he has truly helped me find my love in beach volleyball, so thank you so much!!! I also want to thank all my friends and family for cheering me on and just believing in me. I am truly so thankful! I am so excited to go play. I never thought, out of all the sports I have played, it ended up being beach volleyball that I have now pursued, and I am so very happy that I did. And finally, thank you so much @andynjoyfulenwider for this amazing opportunity!! I am so excited to be a Roadrunner!

From Viking to Roadrunner.

Aireon Scott has officially signed with Cal State Bakersfield, where she will continue her academic and athletic career to compete at the Division I level.

A key member of our beach volleyball program, Aireon helped lead the Vikings to an undefeated conference championship and a Team State appearance during one of the most successful seasons in program history.

We are incredibly proud of everything she has accomplished and can’t wait to see what’s next.✨
