Meet the VISTAs 👋🏽

Swipe through to meet our 2026-27 AmeriCorps VISTA Cohort, all working to build capacity and empower our community!

Each slide shares who we are, where we’re serving and why we said yes to service!

Meet Aunna!

Hometown: Northern Virginia

Site: @greaterhighpointfoodalliance

Why service?: There is always a way to help others, and non-profit work and community outreach have always interested me. At my host site, I'm most excited to build connections in the community and watch our service make a difference in people’s lives.

Meet our returner, Christian!

Hometown: Greensboro, NC

Site: @megamissionministrieshp

Why service?: This is my second VISTA term, and I'm back at my former Bonner site, where I served as an undergraduate. I'm excited to carry the skills and experiences from my first term serving into my work with Mega Mission Ministries and the CWC. The challenge is that I've returned in a more “behind the scenes” role rather than a hands on one. But my responsibilities as a VISTA let me target foundational issues in the community, mainly student education and learning retention, which is one of my focuses this year.

Meet Dani!

Hometown: Greensboro, NC

Site: @cisofhp

Why service?: I decided to commit a year of service to give back to my community and learn from it about the challenges we can overcome through collaboration, creativity, and persistence. I'm excited to begin developing our School Resource Room for community members and to learn how to create sustainable systems that contribute to the CIS mission.

Meet Madison!

Hometown: Greenwood, MS

Site: @hpu_cce

Why service?: I believe service is what truly connects us. It's an intimacy that comes from meeting someone's needs while learning who they are: their story and their passions. I'm most excited to build more meaningful relationships between the local High Point community and the High Point University community.

Meet Muneeba!

Hometown: High Point, NC

Site: @ywcahp

Why service?: I chose to serve because I want to give back to my community while growing personally and professionally. I'm excited to build meaning

📸 📸 Yesss we are all for the celebrations and more memories were created as we had a BLAST celebrating our HPU VISTA @ct_shockgear24 along with other VISTAs in the High Point community. 🎉🙌🏽

A beautiful evening Gabby @watupsnow put us to work 😂 after work. We got it though celebration and engagement hand in hand and as always @corvin.davis and I love being with community partners, the @hpu_cce staff, and of course our former Washington Street VISTAS because it’s always a family reunion! 💫

We still have a few more weeks to love on Christian but we are so appreciative of his work in our community. 💜

There are no amount of words that can explain how much this summer has changed my life for the better. This summer has taught me so many life lessons that I will continue to use for the rest of my life. Thanks to all my friends that I have met along the way. I will never forget all the stuff you all have done for me this summer. To all the people that I’ve gotten close to this summer, I’m so proud of every single one of you. You all have grown so much and it was an honor to see you all grow. Much love to all!! ❤️💛💚💙 #victoryjunction
