The @unconventionalkingz were festival headliners for the first time and had an unforgettable performance highlighted by the @thefullspeedfamily @king_emmitt @therealkhiry joining @realhighdeaf and @lowkeythawizard for a performance of the song “Ghetto” . The song had the crowd in a chokehold from jump and it’s humbling because that song is really about something. Thank you to our brothers @skrrrtisblow @cleachaz and @that_saxyrapper who are headliners in their own right just like every KING on that stage. AZ media I’m tagging you because I think this movement is coverage worthy. 🙏🏽

Is Arizona’s sound boom-bap/lyrical hip-hop, or is the @phx_hiphop Top 75 list biased?

For context, my statement came from the top 75 List conversation. This is now the second Top 75 list, and I’m hearing a very similar sound represented across both. More specifically, I’m talking about a range that goes from boom-bap to that early-2000s, sample-based, lyrical hip-hop sound. My statement was more of a rhetorical question based on what I’m seeing and hearing, not me saying that’s the only sound coming out of Arizona!

If the goal is to compete beyond our local scene, are we accurately showcasing the full range of sounds coming out of Arizona, or are we prioritizing one particular sound?

Last month, I made the @phx_hiphop top 75 list & just want to express gratitude to everyone who agreed to add me to the list. 🙏🏽 To be amongst such talented MC’s is a true honor & I appreciate the recognition.

That being said, I SAID WHAT I SAID 🤫 - “THIS IS THAT REAL ARIZONA SOUND ANYTHING LESS IS A DOWNGRADE” 📉

Shoutout @luniakbeats for recording, mixing, & mastering & @marcdbeats for the beat 🔥
