What an incredible feature by @ctvottawa highlighting the Ed Laverty National Touch Football Championships!

After nearly 15 years, bringing the National Championships back to Ottawa was a proud moment for our city's sporting community. Welcoming teams from across Canada over Thanksgiving weekend was a wonderful celebration of over 50 years of touch football history, friendships and the lasting legacy of Ed Laverty, a 2024 Canadian Football Hall of Fame inductee. @cfhofandm

They say life is all about the connections we make along the way, and this story is a perfect example!

Through the personal friendships and connections of Ed's daughter, we were fortunate to have some wonderful people help bring this story to life.

On behalf of the ONTFL and Touch Football Ontario, a heartfelt thank-you to @joanne_woo_ and @derick.fage for going above and beyond to make this coverage possible over the Thanksgiving long weekend. Your friendship and support mean so much!

🏈 Fun fact! Derick's father actually played touch football in the ONTFL alongside Ed Laverty! Talk about a small world!

A special thank-you to CTV's Kimberly Johnson, who spent hours on the field interviewing players, coaches and organizers, capturing the history, passion and spirit of our game. Kimberly, you told our story beautifully, and we're so grateful!

What an incredible surprise and honour!

Yesterday, Tyler Fleming from CTV News visited our store to interview me about the closing of our brick-and-mortar store after 26 wonderful years.

I was truly touched that our little store in Almonte and the journey we’ve shared with this community were considered worthy of a news story.

After 26 years, there are so many memories and emotions, and I am incredibly grateful to Tyler and CTV News for taking the time to share a little piece of our story.

Our storefront may be closing, but Darrell Thomas Textiles is not closing. Our next chapter continues online.
