Sometimes Instagram makes even the most user-friendly trends seem intimidating – what, I can’t do colour drenching unless it’s the deepest burgundy imaginable? Maximalism isn’t possible unless I own 300 paintings and several damask wallpapers? Nope! On a recent trip to Cuckfield, I noticed that our Airbnb had several of the “newest” trends on display, all in beautiful, cosy, totally doable ways…

This week, I’m out and about shooting festive homes with @tamsynmorgansphotography in readiness for Christmas 2025. We’re loving creating magic for you to enjoy at a later date.

Meanwhile, our previous Christmas content continues to shine. We’ve just realised that we currently have fourteen festive features in seven different titles across four countries! Creating this much involves months of planning, a small forest of fir trees, miles of driving, yards upon yards of ribbon, hundreds of cups of tea, plenty of giggles, and some seriously hard work.

I’m also thrilled to share that, in addition to covers for the @reclaimmag Christmas issue and bookazine, A Vintage Christmas (both still on sale), a shoot we did last year has made the cover of the January issue of @period_living (on sale now). The feature, Merry & Bright, highlights the home of Hannah (@goldenpeaches) and Luke Peachey-Thacker, owners of @corvusantiques, and showcases their stunning freestanding salvaged kitchen. The piece delves into their shared love of vintage and antique treasures and how this Christmas is extra special for them.

But that’s not all! We also have two more features in the same issue of Period Living. One focuses on Jane Kellar’s Grade II-listed 17th-century thatched stone cottage, a peaceful haven dressed in shades of white with a French influence @lepetitchienblanc. The other highlights Rachel Ashfield’s circa-1870 brick cottage @the_old_cottage, which she has lovingly restored to feel rustic, natural, timeless, and especially cosy for Christmas. I’ll share pictures from these features soon.

Happy Christmas prepping.

Good morning followers old and new. Rise and shine. Saturday has arrived and here are some bright an breezy image to start your day! These are all recent treasures finds. I have quite a few different styles that I admire but this one is full of those festive colours and fruits. It makes me think of Autumn parties and sitting around a fire having a tipple or three, plates full of delicious canapes and lots of chat!. Despite the current times we are in, nostalgia is always a comfort. Have a look at my Etsy shop (just follow my link in bio) or contact me directly.

Happy Saturday 🌾
“Go, sit upon the lofty hill, And turn your eyes around, Where waving woods and waters wild Do hymn an autumn sound. The summer sun is faint on them— The summer flowers depart— Sit still— as all transform’d to stone, Except your musing heart.” Elizabeth Barrett. A wonderful autumnal collection today ~ love S x.
