Tbh. The second time around in japan was even better. I learned so much about myself and so much more about traveling. I think when we travel, we easily get stuck in this matrix where we pack non stop experiences, attractions, and we look for the best of the best. We look at the place and its people and we get enamored. Then we place ourselves as a visitor and can sometimes let our egos show. During my trip I told myself at some point, I don’t need to change for anyone, I just need to be. You go to a place, you’re now apart of that place. You’re a foreigner, but you adapt and you treat people how you would like to be treated. You give what you get. Along the way I had so many great interactions and met so many new friends. I got my hair done. I did a photo shoot. Shopped til I dropped. Reconnected with friends. Ate good. Danced and entered a dance battle(I actually got some wins in). Walked a shit ton. So much. A take away from this trip for me was to always be true to yourself wherever you are, people will accept you for your genuine self. Also, people anywhere are just people. We all exist in the same moments of time and space. I realized I don’t care much for touristy things, what really matters is diving deep into the culture, community, breaking bread, and enjoying the things I enjoy doing with others. Arigatou gozaimasu. Kiotsukete.🙏🏻
