A behind-the-scenes look at the first Delwboy Studios auditions.
Actors came into the room, read, talked, took direction and gave us something to think about. But building the work is only one part of it. I’m just as interested in building a studio culture where people know where they stand, feel respected and leave feeling like their time actually mattered.
First auditions for Delwboy Studios.
What happens in the room matters. So does how people are treated before they walk in, while they’re there, and after they leave.
I want the work to be strong, but I also want the process around it to feel different.
That’s part of what we’re building.

Still smiling at these lovely words from the CHARISMATIC Cudjoe 🖤

Sometimes all you need is an outside eye to help you unlock a scene and go further in your work. 💫

If you’ve been taping solo for a while, why not shake things up?

See if there’s more you can uncover, what’s already working and what might help to get even deeper. 🙌🏾

🎬 Self-tape slots available in Lewisham
☀️ 50% off first session until Oct 31

A powerful new outdoor production will be presented by Talawa, the UK’s leading Black British theatre company, as part of the 30th anniversary of Greenwich+Docklands International Festival. The full cast and creative team have now been announced for Fragments of Us, developed with London-based Black British contemporary dance company FUBUNATION and theatre and live art practitioner Sonia Hughes. Blending movement and spoken word, Fragments of Us brings Black voices and lived experiences to the forefront in an engaging and intimate story.

The cast comprises: Seyi Falas who is a London-born actor, spoken word artist and singer; Cudjoe Asare, an actor of Ghanian heritage; Michael Hooke-Tappin who has years of experience in ballet and contemporary dance, with his styles combining hip-hop, popping and krump; and Isaac Ouro-Gnao, a Togolese-British multidisciplinary artist, who has worked with renowned choreographers and companies including Punchdrunk. Completing the cast is Eliezer Gore, a Zimbabwean born poet, theatre maker and facilitator who is currently a Roundhouse resident artist.

Bringing the stunning outdoor performance to life with a blend of Hip Hop and African styles, dancers will engage in spontaneous interactions with audience members. Opening an intimate dialogue for chosen participants to reflect on their own personal stories and connections, Fragments of Us presents a powerful balance between the personal and the communal.

A Thursday treat for ya'llll

Our Offical Music Video for 'Our Home' is OUT NOW 😍

Head on over to Youtube to watch the full version or to @ventsmagazine who have kindly premiered it for us 🙏

This video was shot on film by our good pal @tobygoodgerdop on a summers day in Devon. We wanted to capture the beauty & joy of friendship, and of the natural world, which is exactly what the song is all about.

Thank you to everyone who was involved in creating this with us. It will live long in our memories as the most wholesome weekend ❤️
