I am super excited to announce my verbal commitment to the admissions process at Columbia University! Firstly, I’d like to thank all my coaches and teammates from PASA, PALY, and SOLO for pushing me and shaping me into the person I am today. Next, thank you to my friends and family their unwavering support through this journey. Finally, a special thanks to Coaches Diana and Demerae for believing in me and providing me with this amazing opportunity!

@ionaswimdive for the ball knowledge post idea!

🏊‍♂️ LONGEVITY BALL KNOWLEDGE 🧠

The longest-serving active head coaches in NCAA Swimming & Diving entering the 2026–27 season.

Nick Cavataro leads the way at Iona in his 46th season 🤯 followed by Brian Reynolds at Drury and Jim Bolster at Columbia.

Decades on deck. Generations of swimmers. An unbelievable amount of ball knowledge.

Who did we miss? 👀

🇺🇸 TOP 10 FORGOTTEN AMERICAN WOMEN SWIMMERS 🇺🇸

Certified Ball Knowledge Edition 🧠🏊‍♀️

We went DEEP for this one.

These aren’t just retired stars. These are NCAA monsters, Olympic Trials finalists, Olympians, American record holders and even a WORLD RECORD HOLDER whose names don’t get nearly enough love anymore.

1️⃣ Maggie Bowen
2️⃣ Alison Wagner
3️⃣ Anne Sievers
4️⃣ Mary DeScenza
5️⃣ Rachel Komisarz
6️⃣ Cristina Teuscher
7️⃣ Rada Owen
8️⃣ Julia Stowers
9️⃣ Samantha Arsenault
🔟 Ellen Stonebraker

Alison Wagner went 2:07.79 in the 200 IM — a WORLD RECORD.

Mary DeScenza won the NCAA 200 fly FOUR YEARS IN A ROW.

Anne Sievers was a 10× All-American, 5× Big Ten champion and two-time Olympic Trials finalist.

And somehow these names rarely come up anymore.

Swimming history goes way deeper than the names everybody already knows.

How many of these 10 did you know WITHOUT looking them up? 👀
