A Q&A with the next generation of HBCU leaders. 💜💛

Grateful for the opportunity to connect with Prairie View A&M University students as the founder of Cultivated Core and to share strategies on mental performance, experiences with entrepreneurship, and building something rooted in authenticity.

The how is never as important as the why.

Honored to be in the presence of and pour into the next generation.

Man, I’m proud of this group! Watching you grow, compete, and learn to battle together is what coaching is all about. Every game is another opportunity to get better, and we keep building!

We fight. We compete. We continue to get better. TOGETHER. ❤️🏀

THIS IS OUR 8TH GRADE TEAM! Proud of you girls. Love you all! Enjoy this one—then we get right back in the gym and keep working!

Development goes beyond the court. 🧠🏀

This fall, Arsenal athletes are getting mental performance training with @cultivatedcore, built right into our practices!

Body language, bouncing back from setbacks, taking constructive criticism and recognizing/supporting teammates. Tools that work on the court and at home!

Every player has a next level.

“Coach doesn’t like me.”
“I can’t do anything right.”

Ever heard this on the ride home from practice or a game?

Sometimes constructive feedback feels personal to an athlete. As parents and guardians, we can help them work through that feeling and turn it into a teaching moment.

Try asking: “What was Coach asking you to change?” or “What could you ask Coach to help you understand?”

Correction and constructive criticism are part of life—in sports, school, and eventually work. Learning to listen, ask questions, and make adjustments while still believing in themselves is a skill our children can carry far beyond basketball.

Through our partnership with Cultivated Core, Arsenal is integrating Mental Performance Coaching into athlete development—building confidence, resilience, and communication skills, with tools for players, coaches, and families. 💚🏀

Save this for a future ride home.

DEVELOPMENT GOES BEYOND THE GAME.

Confident at practice. Overthinking at tip-off. 🏀

Game-day nerves are real. Learning to reset, trust yourself, and focus on the next play takes practice, too.

Through our partnership with Cultivated Core, Arsenal athletes are training the mental side of the game. 💚

You don’t have to feel fearless to play with confidence.

A missed shot. A tough call. A moment when confidence slips. What happens next matters. 🏀

Arsenal AAU Basketball and Cultivated Core are partnering to integrate Mental Performance Coaching into the athlete development experience.

This fall, our athletes will build more than basketball skills. They’ll practice tools to strengthen confidence, handle pressure, bounce back from mistakes, communicate, and lead—with coaches reinforcing those lessons throughout the season.

Included in our fall program, at no additional cost to families. Because developing athletes means supporting the person behind the player.

Hoopers! 🏀 Try this drill to sharpen your jab options, get past defenders, and get into your middy pull-up! 🔥 Sell the jab, read the defender, and rise up with confidence.

@livsanc was locked in with @coache_hoops perfecting the jab and getting into her mid range jump shot!

Save this and get your reps in! 💪 #HoopsAndHandles #basketballtraining #playerdevelopment #girlsbasketball #basketballdrills

For most of my life, I trained to perform.

Now I’m training to become.

I’ve always been an athlete, but running has never been my sport.

My goal here is to keep showing up as a runner, not because it’s easy, but because my mind could benefit from the challenge.

Thank you to @cultivatedcore for helping with our basketball camp at LYLP! 🏀🏅

Our campers loved learning about teamwork and discipline. Cultivated Core also focused on mental health and community. We couldn’t have done it without their hard work! 🤩⭐️

🔥 Want to take your handles and shot creation to the next level? Try this combo:

🏀 Tween ➡️ Tween ➡️ Behind the Back ➡️ Cross ➡️ Tween ➡️ Pull-Up Shot

The secret isn’t getting it right the first time. The secret is being willing to FAIL, learn, and keep going until you master it.

This is exactly why Scarlett (@scarlett_hoops), a 5th grader heading into 6th grade, is going to be a SERIOUS problem. 💪🏽🔥

She isn’t afraid to mess up. She isn’t afraid to be uncomfortable. She keeps working until she gets it right. That’s how real players develop.

Remember: every great player you’ve ever watched has missed thousands of reps before making it look easy.

✅ Be willing to fail
✅ Be willing to learn
✅ Be willing to keep going

The results will come.

Want to level up your game? Come train with Coach E and Hoops & Handles and learn how to train the right way.

Follow @scarlett_hoops, @coach_ehoops, and @hoopsandhandlesacademy for more basketball drills, tips, and player development content! 🏀🔥
