Memories:
In 2019 I began the “comedy Houston via Pancho Claus page. “ Scotty Peterson was having a comedy show at his place on commerce Street .

Every once in a great while I would give a shout out happy birthday to Houston Comics. In 2019 I also snapped this photo of Rob Mungle ,Zahid Dewji , Warren Wright& my son Rene.

No one knew who I was but when I gave them my card Warren right away commented “oh you’re the guy who posted my birthday shout out. “ He said “that meant a lot to me because no one wished me a happy birthday that day. “. Right there I decided to post a happy birthday to every local Comic that I knew of!

The Austin comedy scene is exploding, with comedians from all over the nation flocking to our city. The Velv is the longest-running comedy club in town, showcasing the best comics Austin has to offer for over 37 years!

We’ve assembled an All-Star group of comics that you’ve seen on SXSW, the Moontower Comedy Festival, and more! These lineups have been carefully curated, featuring a good mix of established headliners and the hottest up-and-coming comics in town. With the latest uptick of famous comics moving to Austin, you never know who may drop in unannounced!

The Velveeta Room has been a constant presence in the local comedy scene, helping foster talent for nearly four decades. In a rapidly changing city, we embrace the new talent that has emerged here, while still proudly remaining a symbol of Old Austin. Come hang!
