There are evenings that stay with you not because of their scale, but because of the atmosphere they create. One of those unforgettable nights for me was the “Bed of Roses” release by Teyana Taylor (@teyanataylor) — an intimate event in the heart of Harlem, filled with warmth, music, and pure emotion.

Teyana has a rare gift — she turns every performance into a heartfelt conversation with her audience. She doesn’t just sing; she shares her truth, her vulnerability, and her soul. That night, the room felt alive — as if every heartbeat moved in sync with her voice.

I had the privilege of being there to witness and capture those moments through my lens. It wasn’t just photography — it was a creative dialogue, a chance to translate emotion into imagery and preserve the energy that could only be felt in that space.

I’m sincerely grateful to @nikkitaylor1234 for the invitation and the trust. Each frame from that evening carries a piece of that connection, that genuine spark of artistic intimacy.

we met in march 2016. i was 14, you were 15, and from that moment on, we just knew. i didn’t realize then how much those days would come to define my life, how meeting you would change me forever, and how losing you in march 2024 would leave me carrying both the light and the ache of you.

you were magnetic. people couldn’t help but be drawn to you. you had this rare way of making everyone feel seen, of filling a room without even trying. i don’t think you ever fully understood just how extraordinary you were.

you were everything, and the truth is life is different now 🤍 i carry you with me into everything I do; you taught me so much about life & brought out my inner child. i looked up to you in so many ways because you were so unapologetically yourself. Even Miami->LA we always found our way back.

we had 1 rule: every morning and every night, no matter what, we said “i love you.” even when we were beyond mad at one another, even when we were sad, we never let a day pass without telling one another. so i sleep ok at night knowing you knew. you were the most fun loving person ive ever known.

this is the first time i’ve shared something like this here. i was hesitant, because some things feel too sacred to put into words.

Yesterday, I had the chance to be part of a very special and intimate event in Harlem — the ‘Bed of Roses’ release by Teyana Taylor (@teyanataylor). It was a short but truly memorable moment, filled with amazing energy, music, and a vibe that will stay with me for a long time.
