Meet the Tour Guide: @marysheffield 🏔️🚶🏽‍♀️Let us introduce you to a woman whose leadership is equal parts faith, fire, and heart. Mary Sheffield is a bridge builder, a barrier breaker, and a believer in the power of people.

Born and raised in Detroit, leadership is in Mary’s DNA. The daughter of a social activist and a nurse, she inherited conviction and compassion, a balance that has defined her calling to serve. At just 26, she made history as the youngest person ever elected to Detroit City Council and later became the youngest Council President in the city’s history. Now she’s on the road to making history again as Detroit’s first female mayor.

But titles don’t just tell her story. Testimony does.
In this intimate and powerful conversation, Mary opens up about leadership, love, loss, and the faith that has carried her through it all. From ministry to movement, she has stayed anchored in purpose, guided by grace, and unafraid to get real about what it costs to lead with heart.

This conversation isn’t about politics. It’s about perseverance, purpose, and the mountains we all must climb.

Get ready to be moved, challenged, and inspired by a woman who isn’t just leading. She’s lifting. 🖤✨

Meet the Tour Guide: Garlin Gilchrist 🧭💡
Let me introduce you to a leader whose life is a blueprint for vision turned into action. Garlin Gilchrist is Michigan’s first Black Lieutenant Governor, a software engineer by training, and now a candidate for Governor. 🥇 His story proves that innovation is not just about technology, it’s about truth, equity, and building systems where everyone has room to rise.

Garlin’s journey started on the east side of Detroit, where his grandmother bought him his first computer at age five. That small act of love sparked a lifelong passion for solving problems and using technology to create opportunity. From writing code to working at Microsoft, to becoming a public servant willing to “get in the mud and figure it out,” Garlin’s career has been rooted in building solutions.

But his leadership isn’t just technical, it’s deeply human. As husband and father 👨🏾‍🦱❤️, he reminds us that innovation without love and equity isn’t progress, it’s performance. His work has cleared over a million criminal records, helped build thousands of homes, and expanded mental health care across Michigan.

In this episode, Garlin doesn’t just talk about innovation, he redefines it. He opens up about family, vision, resilience, and why “impossible” is just an opinion. Garlin is here to remind us that the future is something we create together.

Get ready to feel stretched, inspired, and challenged to see innovation not as a buzzword, but as a way of life. 🌍⚡

Meet the Tour Guide: Todd Perkins 🥁🕊️
Let me introduce you to a man whose life is a living testament to what it means to lead with both courage and compassion. Todd Perkins is one of Detroit’s top defense attorneys, the founder of one of Michigan’s largest Black-owned law firms, and a lifelong servant of the people. Now, he’s running to become the next mayor of Detroit not on ego, but on empathy.

Todd’s story is grounded in justice and love. Raised on the east side of Detroit, he built his career defending the overlooked and the unheard. In and out of the courtroom, Todd has spent decades fighting for equity, dignity, and access for clients, for youth, and for his city.

But his leadership isn’t just legal, it’s deeply personal. After losing his wife, Todd chose not to retreat but to rise. As a father, a man of faith, and a community voice, he shows us that true strength isn’t about bravado, it’s about heart. It’s about standing in the fire and still choosing to love.

And Todd did choose love again. He remarried, continuing his journey with his now-wife Michelle. Choosing love above all became his quiet revolution, his anchor, and his way forward.

In this episode, Todd doesn’t talk strategy he shares his soul. He opens up about grief, healing, leadership, and the kind of love that refuses to quit. And Todd is here to remind us what that looks like in action.
Get ready to feel challenged, grounded, and inspired to lead with love. 🖤🔥
