🥲 STOCKIST CLOSING DOWN 🥲

The last day of February is here and hopefully the sun continues to shine. You can start to feel Spring in the air and I love that it is lighter for longer.

If you are local, you may know that one of my stockists is closing down today. It is a year since I joined @curioddity.uk, but unfortunately a mix of road works in Elland, property-related issues and family commitments, means the shop owners have decided to not renew their contract. During March, they will be selling display items and hosts some events.

To Amanda and Andrew who created a wonderful shop of independent makers and space for workshops, I hope the future holds new opportunities and thank you for having me.

I will be announcing a new local stockist in the next month or so, which I am excited about. Keep an eye on my socials!

💜🩷 Proud Business Owner Moment! 💚🩵
There’s no denying that 2024 was a tough trading year for all businesses - just look at the high street! But I’m SUPER PROUD of how LDC has done!
❤️ We’ve grown sales in one of the hardest financial periods the UK has faced!
💛 Despite losing the European and NI markets, and Canadian postal strike!
💙 Even in the face of a saturated jewellery sector and not being accepted into many local events.
🧡 Even with 3 eye surgeries, a broken hand and BPPV.
🩷 Our success is down to the support of our amazing customers! Absolutely brilliant collective shops renting us space! Market and Events Managers who recognise our niche offering really stands out amongst the “Artisan Beige” of so many events! Ben’s hard work and strength supporting me! And ME pivoting our products to suit what people can afford and want to buy! And OMG the HATS! You all loved them!
💚 With your help we were able to support our favourite charities too!
💜 It REALLY DOES take all of this to keep going and a bucket of resilience too!
When I see the map of sales, when I think about how many people know and love LDC… I’m so proud! 82.3% of the UK covered! That’s AMAZING TO ME!
❣️💖A BIG THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO HELPED US TO ACHIEVE ALL OF THIS!💖❣️
Lots of love, Clare xo

🎄 CLOSED FOR CHRISTMAS ORDERS 🎄

Happy Saturday! The weekend is here, any nice plans?

I am now closed for any Christmas orders. Thank you to everyone who has liked, commented, shared and purchased with me over the festive season. I am truly humbled, when I know times continue to be tough.

Those of you who have sent bespoke requests, I haven't forgotten about you. I will be in touch with you all.

You can still find some of my products locally in @curioddity.uk in Elland or in @keep_it_local21 in Stoke-on-Trent. Thank you having me in your shops!

My website and Etsy shop will remain open throughout December and into the New Year. I am planning to have a break from 20th December to celebrate birthdays and Christmas.

Hope you have a lovely Saturday and don't forget to keep supporting all the makers at markets.

Another original completed, this time featuring a chauffeur-driven crème de la creme of the British luxury automobiles, the “Wools Royce”. 🔥 MEET THE MAKER 🔥

A huge thank you to @hlkcreativecomms for shooting this little meet the maker video. This is part of a new series, introducing the makers in @curioddity.uk in Elland, West Yorkshire.

Hope you like the introduction to me, even though I think I sound like a two year old 😆

Don't forget to pop into the shop, if you are ever in the area and keep supporting local independent businesses.

😍 UK INDIE WEEKEND 😍

Happy Sunday. Everyone recovered from the football? They don't half make it easy for themselves or us!

This weekend is UK Indie Day with @ukindieday, celebrating all those fabulous independent shops and makers. Yesterday I went to re-stock my shelf at @curioddity.uk in Elland. If you are in the Calderdale area, this shop is full of talented makers so do pop in. They also hold craft workshops, so you can try out a new skill.

If you own an independent shop or cafe, then tag yourself below and where you are based. Alternatively, shoutout your favourite places for shopping local and small.

Hope you have a lovely Sunday.
