“Are you new here? I’ve not seen this store before!” An elderly customer asked curiously.

“Yes, we’re new! We’ve only been here for about a year.” “Though it feels so much longer than that,” I almost add.

Truth to be told, it hasn’t been easy keeping the retail space going, despite the relatively short opening hours and modest inventory.

If we’re honest, one year has felt like five, and we’ve often wondered if this was an endeavour we should never have embarked on.

But the Lord has been ever so faithful - gently nudging us on each time discouragement threatens to overwhelm, providing exactly what we need in His perfect timing, blessing us with precious friendships we’ll cherish for years to come. More importantly, He has shown us that He is our all-sufficient God who is able to do more than what we ask or imagine, and is always working together all things for His glory and our good.

As we celebrate 4 years as a bookstore, and 1 year in this little space, we’d like to share 4 things we’ve learnt - and some discounts!

🌱 Our children are always watching and listening. What are they learning from us today?
♥️ Never despise humble beginnings.
☁️ Do small things with love and faithfulness. Others won’t know if we did, but we will, and so will God.
📔 It’s not wrong to judge a book by its cover. (Sometimes anyway.) 🤓

Thank you for giving us the opportunity to fill your homes with lovely reads that feed both the mind and soul. We are truly grateful.

Finally stepped into the newly opened @hegen Experiential Centre for the Appreciation Tea Party and.. I must say, the place is such a dream! 😍 Congratulations @yvonbock 💖 and I am forever in awe of you and all the amazing qualities you possess which brought you to where you are today! You deserve all things beautiful in your life, as you yourself are such a beautiful individual both in and out! Love you my red-haired sister! 😘🌹

Also a huge thanks to the #Hegen team for the hospitality! Such an eventful time with a tour around the place by the founder herself, amazing food (I whacked so many chocolate strawberries 🍫🍓), a lovely calligraphy class and lots of fun picture-taking! Never a dull moment at their events catching up with fellow beautiful #hegenmums while making new friends as well. We were also gifted a personalized goodie bag with our name on the bottle of course. 🥰💕

Here’s to many more years of Hegen’s success and am proud to be a #hegenmum for life. 🤗♥️
