Shining the spotlight on my dualities this week. Some people knew me as a songwriter before I became a stand-up comedian; some people can’t see me as anything else outside of being a stand-up comedian. Not many think of me as both. I carry two stage names to represent these entities: Jimil-Anne for music and Jimil for comedy. They get interchangeable from time to time (which is ok), but this is generally how I separate the two. People say I should make separate IG accounts for these two, but they are the same person and I’d rather be seen for all the many things I am outside of comedy (or music)— that, or I’m just too lazy, lol. All I know is that I’ve been tapping into my songwriter side recently and wanting to check out the music scene a little more in LA, so I’m throwing in music mics/shows in my calendar now. I have quite a few comedy shows, but a couple music mics sprinkled in there this week (tonight and tomorrow). Anyway, whichever side of me you want to see this week, come on out. I’d love to see you! ❤️
