People always say they want the watch, the car, the nice house…

I don’t actually think they do.

I think they want what those things represent.

Respect.
Success.
Status.

The older I get, the less interested I am in any of that.

I’d genuinely rather drive an average car and have the ability to wake up tomorrow and think, I’m not working today, than have a driveway full of expensive shit that I have to keep working to pay for.

I think a lot of people accidentally build themselves into a financial prison.

Everything looks impressive from the outside, but they can’t stop.

For me, the goal has changed.

I’m not trying to build a life that impresses strangers.

I’m trying to build one that gives me options.

Because when you’ve got options, you’ve got freedom.

And I’d take that over status every single time.

👇 Curious where you stand on this.

Would you rather look wealthy, or actually have control over your own time?

Coastlines, wild camps, lake days, and a few good scrambles to keep things interesting. The last few weeks have been exactly what I needed. Here’s a few shots from the road. Like the song says, the little things really do mean a lot. Sometimes you just have to step back, slow down and take it all in. Head is clear, body feels solid, and I'm ready to get after some massive adventures ahead ⛰️⛺️🌊

Coastal camping in the Llyn peninsula.

Alex and Curtis and I decided to go camping.

"I know a spot" I said.

Initially pitching on the grass, we quickly relocated to the rocks due to an insane amount of ticks crawling all over our tent and bivvy bag. We checked ourselves thoroughly and brushed off all of our tents, sleeping bags ect.

Still got a tick on my leg when I woke up in the morning. Swiftly removed using the tick tool.

Great day out exploring Dinorwic Quarry with the lads @healthy_mental_men
•
•
So much to explore in here, think it was my 5th or 6th time here and still found new places to explore
•
•
Have to come back with ropes next time and explore further.
•
•
Enter at your own risk obviously 💀☠️🏴‍☠️⛔️ Nice that it’s not completely cordoned off so you can still explore but obviously you do so at your own risk.
•
Fuckkkkk getting on that rusty train track though 😂 my balls are not as big as @smashleysquires or anyone that gets that shot

Another day full of adventure with @healthy_mental_men gang 🤙

@curtis_captures_ leading us on the snakes 🐍 and ladders🪜route.

Can understand why ita a no go zone when you see the size of the landslide and all the slate cracked and dislodged 😬

Its not advised to go there. But you know that isn't going to stop anybody 😅
At your own risk⚠️

Awesome day out in the lakes with the lads from @healthy_mental_men. Nice to do a full loop route for once with a few wainwrights thrown in too.

Spoilt with views once the clouds lifted. I thought driving there it was going to be another standard cloudy in the lakes day. Drove through low clouds about 3 times on the m6 clouds, sun, clouds, sun so it was teasing us from the start.

Started from one of my favourite places in the lakes in the sleepy little village of Grasmere and ticked off Fairfield Peak, Great Rigg and Stone Arthur. Absolutely Baltic in the wind chill up top and felt like being on Ben Nevis in winter again with that finger biting coldness where it takes a millennium for your fingers to warm up.

Going to have to upgrade my Minecraft phone soon aren’t I to get some better shots 😂 thankfully some of the guys have DSLR-like phone camera quality phones.

But like Wales and Lakes, comparison is the thief of joy, so it’s all about getting out and having a laugh with your mates regardless of where you are, what kit you’ve got. It’s more about the people around you and the vibes of the day. No judgement here and good vibes all around 😎

Got really lucky with the weather again this weekend. The lake district needs no invite to be beautiful but when the god rays are shooting through the clouds it really is something special 😍 great group hike/camp this weekend with @healthy_mental_men #lakedistrict #hiking #mentalhealth #springhassprung

Awesome spontaneous day out in the mountains with this group of legends! Started off the hike/scramble with a drippy nosebleed 😂 went climbing at the boardroom the night before and thought fuck it I’m already halfway to Wales, why don’t I jump on the hike, hadn’t done Tryfan for a while and the weather gods were saying yes, no, maybe, yes in the end thankfully so it would have been rude not to go. Slept in the car to be there on time and was toying with the idea of running up for sunrise but after a long week at work, I needed the rest and didn’t fancy being sapped of energy for the rest of the day and good job I didn’t do the sunrise as it ended up being a mega 6ish hour day wit bristly ridge and the Glyders added on too. Never going to complain about that though, spending time outdoors in nature with a good group.

The first time I did bristly ridge, I went a bit of course and some parts are definitely not for beginners and you 100% need a head for heights if doing this route. Everyone on this day out smashed it on the scramble sections and you would not believe it was some of guys’ first hike/scramble.

Such an awesome day out with all and good to catch up after so long too.

Tryfan-Glyder fach-Giyder fawr
An unforgettable day in snowdonia with the boys.
Comfort zones completely ignored and lessons learned when it comes to self confidence and being safe (whilst doing dumb shit)

Cant think of a better way to spend a saturday
