9 YEARS OF MOVE — A LEGENDARY MASTERPIECE THAT CHANGED EVERYTHING. 🖤🔥 Happy 9th Anniversary Move Era: The choreography became a massive viral sensation in South Korea. Countless K-pop idols, dancers, and fans posted covers of the dance, creating a trend known colloquially as the “Move Disease”
The song is arguably most famous for its choreography, which Taemin co-created with renowned Japanese choreographer Koharu Sugawara:
Choreography: Taemin is breaking away from traditional, hyper-masculine boy group routines, the choreography emphasizes fluid lines, delicate isolation movements, controlled hip rolls, and graceful posturing. Taemin intentionally leveraged his dancer’s physique to blend masculine power with soft, balletic grace. This “Masterpiece” cemented Taemin’s reputation as an “idol’s idol” and an avant-garde artist who prioritizes artistic expression, nuance, and theatricality above mainstream trends. Composers & Arrangers
The melody, chord progression, and instrumentation were created and arranged by an international team of songwriters:
Seo Ji-eum (lyric) Curtis A. Richardson (Co-create/Producer) @curtisricha
Adien Lewis (ADN Lewis) (Co-wrote/Producer) Angélique Cinélu (composer/arrangements)

Why was Taemin so angry during MOVE? I look at MOVE completely differently now, after hearing Taemin's account of what happened that evening. He heard his own voice too loud in his in-ear monitors, the sound echoed, and he could barely hear the instruments. Later, he had to play piano—in the very part of the stage where the sound was especially bad. And there was no way to stop and calmly figure it out—the concert went on. He had to sing, dance, control his breathing, keep the rhythm, and at the same time try to understand what was happening with the sound and how to explain to the engineers exactly what he wanted. He even said that at one point he was wondering: should he stop or just keep going? No wonder he was angry.

When you watch MOVE, you can really see how angry he was. That incredible kick and the look in his eyes, which was literally withering. The fans absolutely loved this version of Taemin, but at the same time, he was worried because everything wasn't going as expected. He later said, "Damn, they noticed! They totally figured me out!" He genuinely didn't expect people to love seeing him like this so much.

I've honestly never shown MOVE to anyone who didn't like it, even to people who don't listen to K-pop or pop music at all. And I know exactly why. MOVE is pure elegance: the music, the rhythm, the choreography, Taemin's moves, the whole vibe. There's nothing over the top about it. It doesn't need to scream to grab attention. It just draws you in. And we have Curtis A. Richardson, Adien Lewis, and Angélique Cinélu to thank for the music, and Seo Ji-eum wrote the lyrics. Years have passed, and MOVE is still MOVE. Nothing else feels quite like it. #태민 #taemin #kpopedits #taemin_world_tour_liminal #kpopnews

(Full video) "Angry Taemin" from day three of LiMiNaL unexpectedly became one of the versions of him fans loved the most.

Taemin was genuinely frustrated because of the sound and IEM issues. His own voice was way too loud in his ears, he could barely hear the instruments, the sound kept coming back as an echo, and there was no way to properly explain to the sound engineers what was wrong while he was performing. You could really feel it during MOVE. The choreography itself was the same, but it felt completely different that night. His frustration came through even with his usual precision – especially in that powerful leg swing. And his eyes looked like they were shooting lasers. He wasn't acting angry for the performance. He really was angry.

Taemin was upset because the show wasn't going the way he wanted, and he felt like he was losing his freedom onstage. But the fans noticed everything and, instead of being disappointed, cheered even louder. That actually annoyed him a little: "Damn, they noticed everything! They totally figured me out!"

He demands almost perfect control from himself, but fans loved seeing him raw and completely real. He later admitted he had no idea they would like seeing that side of him so much. And that's what made this MOVE feel so different. The choreography hadn't changed – it was Taemin's real emotions coming through. That powerful leg swing and that scorching look said everything.

And since we're talking about MOVE, credit to the people behind this masterpiece: Curtis A. Richardson, Adien Lewis and Angélique Cinélu composed the song, with lyrics by Seo Ji-eum.
