Next up in our 2027 team preview series: Georgia. 🐶

We’re breaking down the Bulldogs’ projected lineup, pitching staff, and incoming talent, with breakout picks and postseason predictions from The Omaha Report, College Baseball Report, and The Prospect Report.

Our picks: Breakouts from incoming talent, big performances from returning bats, and Omaha across the board!! Georgia’s No. 1 transfer portal class adds to the expectations in Athens, and all three of us see the Dawgs reaching the College World Series.

Can Georgia turn those expectations into a trip to Omaha in 2027, and which player will make the biggest impact? Drop your predictions below. 👇

Tonight, a group of our student-athlete leaders assisted in welcoming the University of System of Georgia Board of Regents to dinner in the West End Zone at Sanford Stadium. Thanks to the @universityofga Office of Special Events and @ugapresidentmorehead for providing this opportunity. Regents, welcome to Athens and Go Dawgs!

STOP CALLING EVERY MED BALL THROW “ROTATIONAL POWER”

🧐 Not all med ball throws train the same qualities, patterns, and feel for rotational athletes.

🧠 Just because it rotates “fast” does not mean it trains the same adaptations. (Med ball throws are actually too far on the velocity spectrum for true “Power” anyways, but that’s a different discussion)

🌪️ Rotation is typically dismissed or forgotten as its own movement pattern with different loads, velocities, sequences, and structural demands. Just like a trap bar deadlift, heavy trap bar jump, snatch variation, split squat jump, and sprint don’t all train the same lower body qualities. A heavy standing med ball throw, a step-behind throw, a run-in throw, and a reactive throw all live in different parts of the structure-force-RFD continuum.

📆 The question is not, “Is this a rotational power exercise?” The question is, “What quality is this athlete trying to develop right now?” Early off-season, we may need structure and capacity. Later, we may need speed, timing, and high-output rotational intent.

Heartbreak in Clearwater. The season came down to the final inning as the @faubaseball fell 3-2 to the @goshockersbsb in today’s AAC Tournament matchup. FAU battled all afternoon and held the lead late, but Wichita State answered with two runs in the ninth to end the Owls’ tournament run. James Litman was dominant on the mound, and John Martinez added a huge solo shot to keep FAU in front before the late comeback. Tough way for the season to end, but a hard-fought battle from the Owls until the final out. ⚾️💔
