Had the pleasure of 1sting for @nathanielregierdp yet again. And with this commercial being an FX6 and FX3, I chose to do Lightning and Sally (tho the FX3 was never used and never fully “Sally-fied” 😂). So here is speed himself: the Lightning FX6! Some day I’ll get A and B cam fully Sally and Lightning AND get pics of both rigs hahaha. But this was a fun build and @nicwheat added some nice flare to the matte box giving it the “Kachow Brow” along with just assisting with the prep for this build! And as always huge thank you to @rarebreedswest for the camera package and for being my second home ☺️

The key to a clean camera build: clean cabling! And my go to these days for wrangling cables: Cine Mag Ties!

Clean cabling isn’t just for style points; it also is a safeguard against cable snags when operating and is a means of sectioning off grouped cables if you need to switch up or troubleshoot the rig. Showing this level of care as an AC shows your DP and Operators your ability to be neat and organized as an assistant camera. I have been hired or rehired simply because of neat builds or the organization of my AC kit. And though nothing else in my life may be organized, my kit and rigs will ALWAYS stay clean! 😂 Yo Ho and Bottle of Rigs!

Ursa Cine 12K rig for a recent Rom Com teaser I had the pleasure of DPing. Featuring a good good Mountain Dew theme and sporting the Wooden Camera Elite Accessory System for the cage. Super lightweight and allows for several different rigging options to suite your needs. In this case we used an accessory plate and mounted right off the side of the top plate to mount the Teradek. Love how simple this setup was!

I genuinely wish there were more mounting points to the side of the Pyxis 12K. I ended up jerry rigging an Alexa Mini Cheeseplate to the side and rigging up using my 3D printed Kondor Blue Mini Lock Male Plates. Since i can control the thickness of these plates this allowed me to stack the Teradek Bolt 6 LT TX slightly in front of the Teradek RT MDR.X to allow for some space. This was a super tight build and wished I had a little more space. But overall, super pleased with how it ended turning up.

I also enjoy supporting small businesses, so using a mix of 2 amazing cable artists in the industry, @pliskinake and @customcameracables . Both make amazing products check them out! Definitely could’ve tidied up the cables but left my wooden camera mag ties at home…

We have indeed been rocking; we have indubitably been rolling ⚡️

Many hands make light work, every job is a privilege. Grateful to learn new tricks and to be slating sticks.

The most important tool i bring to work are the lessons and wisdom of people who did my job before me.

Grateful to level up my AC skill tree and until we slate or break bread together again stay sharp camera team! ⚔️

Dead Cameras Tell No Tales! 🏴‍☠️ Here is my Pirates of the Caribbean build for DP @nathanielregierdp before it underwent vertical and teleprompter mode 😂 (swipe to the end to at least see it in vertical mode lol) And peep the nice black and gold SDI in the Teradek from @customcameracables. Finally had a use for it 😉

Huge shoutout to Rare Breeds for the camera package: Arri Alexa Mini LF with Arri Signature Prime lenses. Fun parts about this build going vertical were the use of the Wooden Camera Vertical Plate, sticking the Elite Handgrip on the side of the camera which turned into a mini gun styled handle when vertical, and I finally got to stick my little bubble level on the camera since we couldn’t use the digital level on the camera and with the teleprompter rigging parts, we couldn’t always see the bubble on the head.
