The perfect front porch to take in these beautiful fall days in Colorado!

We're so thrilled our client selected Shou Sugi Ban with treated ash as the accent material for the exterior of their UNUM: home.

Carved out of the main living space, this exterior patio at our recently completed UNUM: home features a cantilevered corner, and a large bi-fold door to create an extension of the living area. The materiality transition provides an intuitive dialog between solid and void. We love how the treated ash wood pops against the surrounding Shou Sugi Ban and provides an element of warmth.

We paid a visit to our UNUM: home in Denver's Berkeley neighborhood last week to check out the new landscaping. We’re loving how the neutral grasses pop against the Shou Sugi Ban on the exterior of the home! Stay tuned for upcoming photos of the interior!

These exterior detail shots of one of our UNUM:homes taken by @that.one.carpenter were too good not to share! We’re loving this combination of the Shou Sugi Ban and the treated ash!

I’ve seen this house circulating around IG and I’m in love! Did you know that this exterior isn’t just painted black? It is actually charred wood siding (#shousugiban)! Swipe to the third picture (not from this same house) to see what this wood looks like up close!

Happy Friday Eve! Which is your favorite? We love them all // Custom Wood Solutions offers Cypress (no knots) that kiln dry, is charred, scraped with steel brushes, and stained with high quality Penofin. Lastly, wood is stained with clear sealant. Beautiful stuff! .
