🌙✨ And just like that…we’re stepping into the dark! The cast and creative team of the world premiere of Beatrice Likes the Dark gathered for the very first time for our first read and design presentations—and Beatrice’s wonderfully whimsical world is beginning to come to life! Photos by Juliana Quirino Around the table, we heard the play together for the first time, shared plenty of laughs, and got our first look at the designs that will transform the stage through light, shadow, sound, costumes, scenery, props, and a little bit of theatrical magic. For Beatrice, the daytime world can sometimes feel too bright, too loud, and too busy. But in the quiet of the dark, her imagination shines. Now our artists are creating that world—a place where ordinary things can become extraordinary and there’s wonder waiting in the shadows. 🌙💫 We can’t wait to show you what they’re dreaming up. 🖤 Beatrice Likes the Dark 📅 October 2–November 1 📍 Adventure Theatre MTC at Glen Echo Park ✨ A World Premiere | Ages 4+ The dark is where the magic begins. The dark is getting a little more magical. 🌙 Adventure Theatre MTC is thrilled to announce the cast and creative team bringing the world premiere of Beatrice Likes the Dark to life this fall! Leading the cast is Irene Hamilton as Beatrice, joined by Chelsea Majors as Roo, Jordan Brown as Buttons, Hannah Taylor as Raven, Jordan Essex as Man 2, and Tobi Baisburd as Woman 2. Mollie Greenberg and Sasha Rosenbaum round out the company as understudies. Behind the scenes, director Patrick Flynn leads a creative team including Dom Ocampo (Set Design), Paris Francesca (Costume Design), Lynn Joslin (Lighting Design), Andrea “Dre” Moore (Props Design), and Kenny Neal (Sound Design). Together, they’re creating a world of shadow play, surprising transformations, laugh-out-loud characters, and the kind of theatrical magic that can turn an ordinary object into something extraordinary. Because for Beatrice, the dark isn’t something to fear. It’s where the magic begins. ✨ Beatrice Likes the Dark 📅 October 2–November 1, 2026 📍 Adventure Theatre MTC at Glen Echo Park 🎟️ Ages 4+ #BeatriceLikesTheDark #AdventureTheatreMTC #WorldPremiere #TheatreForYoungAudiences #DCTheatre #FamilyTheatre #GlenEchoPark

District Fringe photo dump! Writing is such a solitary activity. It’s truly wild to witness something that for so long only existed in my head now fully staged and taking on a life of its own! It’s been such an enjoyable and exciting process to witness the first full production of one of my full-length plays, and I’m incredibly grateful to everyone who helped make Tall Tale of a Wolfman possible. From the cast and creative team to the powerhouses at @districtfringe to the many, many folks who stepped in with references, feedback, funds, encouragement, rehearsal spaces, etc, thank you so much. Hopefully you all enjoyed the show. :) (Professional photos by Alan Kayanan / @hex110) #dctheatre #wolfmanfringe #playwright #districtfringe #newplay #tya
