on friday, a little ladybug landed on me and reminded me how lucky I am.

to be surrounded by the sweetest and warmest people, especially ones that feed into your delusions.
to get my favorite flowers from my family.
to be sentimental and feel through it all.
to be given baked goods!!!!!
to journal in my favorite park.
to wander around my favorite city — that also happens to be home?
to turn 25!
to feel love and joy in the ordinary and in so! many! different! forms!

Allah is so so so kind, mashaAllah. so thank you, little ladybug 🐞

not a sappy recap but here are some of the (many) things, people, and places that filled my soul this year:

the first warm spring weekend
sunsets at marsha p. johnson
babies + the joy they bring
monthly tall poppy mornings
lorde parade + collective effervescence
baking + hosting home cafes
slumber party reunions
reminders from God that miracles happen
for good one-day choir with strangers
a trip that felt like home
a stranger’s prayers
solo summer park days
rooftop picnic about life
accidentally ran into jacob elordi #fate
being near the water
played tourist with my best friend
snow day at prospect
always getting excited for my go-to breakfast (roti + kofi)
my nyami cult (a lot more not in frame)
this city; my home

another year of flowing with intention, detachment, and whimsy!!! living, living, living through it all and finding unexpected joys through the great ordinary. (may have found more of myself too and maybe that’s all that matters for now)
