Bristol's first FREE 48hr Film competition for professionals.
POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
Last week my friend and filmmaker Onismo asked me 2 days before if I wanted to star in a short film he was creating for a competition where he was grouped together with strangers and asked to create a 5 minute short film within 48 hours (everything had to be created and completed within 48hrs) and of course I was on board.

Bear in mind I thought this was a small community project, had to learn the script on set and was not expecting what I experienced on the day of the award ceremony.

When I arrived I said a small prayer to God asking to win the best actor award (nothing big just a little one). When they announced the judges I was surprised that such established creatives within the industry were judging and then as soon as the films started and I saw the quality of the production, the cinematography, the writing and the talent of the other actors, I looked at my friend and thought well do we stand a chance up against this much talent but when our film played on the big screen I changed my tune a bit and thought ok this does look really good but still thought I probably wouldn’t win best actor.

My friend had to go home as soon as the films had been screened so although I wanted to get the last train home I said I’d get the train with him. We’d walked a bit and stopped at a restaurant so I could use the loo but I kept feeling the Holy Spirit telling me to go back and when I came out I said “Niz I feel like I should stay it would be a missed opportunity if I didn’t” so I stayed and he left. And little did I know I’d be bloody winning best on screen performance!!!!

I would write more but there’s a limit. You may be thinking “calm down love” but I just wanted to share this story to highlight to you that prayer works and always listen to the Holy Spirit (what you may refer to as your gut feeling) as he will guide you in the right path.

A huge thank you to @joesims10 @brucegoodison @philippalowthorpe @unanidhonghaile and Sam Nicholas for choosing me.

A big thank you to @lydia.lansberry , Vivian Barton for such a great project and Natalie Burns for trusting me to tell her story and the biggest thanks to @saynizzzy and @cuttingitfine48hr for the opportunity ❤️
