The flour is stone-milled at Castle Valley Mill in Bucks County, PA. The dough ferments for eighteen hours before it ever sees the oven. No commercial yeast. Nothing added to hurry it along.

Let us explain!!

We are identical twin brothers. No, we do not have all identical tattoos although we do have some matching ones. Our last name is in fact Servis. We never planned to be chefs in our teenage years. Now we would never trade this for the world.

We were very fortunate enough to have had an experience in our early twenties that opened up our eyes to “the dark side”. Which really should be the light side. We were able to work in this restaurant that was owned and operated by a farm family, meaning all of the product we were able to cook with came directly from their farm. The freshest veggies and eggs. Meats I have never seen before (well I have, just never like this). It was life changing. We knew at 21 years old, this is the food I want to cook.

Unfortunately, the restaurant didn’t make it after a turnpike bypass directed over 10,000 cars a day around the restaurant instead of passing it. Fast forward six years and one pandemic later and we now find ourselves living on an organic farm up in the middle of nowhere, Maine. This 8th wonder of the world was called Flying Pond Farm. This farm and the family who owns and operates it changed our lives forever..

We were able to experience first hand 100% holistic, homeopathic, homestead living and it was EVERYTHING! We saw how the family ate together everyday and thanked the Lord for what they had. We saw how the neighbors would just walk in without knocking and no one was scared. We saw how they only bought cheese from Barbra, Dairy from Eric. Tony did all the family butchery and every piece of produce eaten was all grown off their land. It was heaven on earth.

We had the eye opening epiphany that we have all of that here in #buckscountypa as well. We just have more convince and way more distractions. So making an immense effort we set out to find all of these people and to cook 100% local, farm to table.

We came back from our experience in Maine in August of 2020 and in October @servisevents was born. We have never looked back.

Our Black Garlic Rye brings together black garlic from @2sistersgarlic in Danville and rye from @cvmllc — two thoughtfully sourced ingredients that give this loaf its distinctive character.

The black garlic lends a mellow sweetness and deep, savory richness, while the rye brings an earthy complexity that ties everything together.

From mixing and fermentation to shaping, scoring, and that final slice, here’s a little look at what goes into making it.

This was Black Garlic Rye’s only appearance on our October menu, but don’t worry — it will be back. Some loaves are just too good not to revisit. 😉

CHEERS TO 6 YEARS 🍻

Whoa, when we really think about how this little business idea of ours started…. We’d never expect to be here 6 years later. From wanting to keep cooking when the pandemic hit. To full calendars, awards won, huge social growth, incredible google profiles. But most importantly, the most amazing community connections and friends made.

I believe we say it at every event that we do, “it’s because of you all that we even get to do this in the first place.” That has almost become our tag line, at the same time could not be more true. IT TAKES A VILLAGE. We are extremely grateful for ours.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts to all our friends and family and to all of the guests who have hired us over the last six years that we now get to call friends as well. We love you!!
