Last chance to see INTERWOVEN this week at @castlefieldgall

INTERWOVEN - Threads & Futures Connected remains open until this Sunday 20th September, a collaboration between British Textile Biennial, @manchester_fashion_week, @castlefieldgall and artists Pippa Eason and @2091studio, exploring threads, materials and the future of Fashion.

Featuring excerpts from British Textile Biennial 2025: The Materials Library: natural fibres, regenerative resources and next-gen materials The Synthetic Revolution: the history and legacy of synthetic textiles Woven Worlds: an ethical fashion collection by Godfrey Katende (IGC Fashion, Uganda) x Salford Slow Fashion.

Plus, natural dyes and colour samples from @studioslowlane, and the short film Will-of-the-Wisp by Pippa Eason & Nick Booton - a meditation on care, attention and our connection to craft and the natural world with music by Manchester artist Sarah Bates.

Such a genuine privilege to share the stage yesterday at @museumofthehome @selvedgemagazine @batsfordbooks event ‘Stitching for Wellbeing’ with other Batsford authors @cwellesleysmith @catherinemarielongtin @cuttsandsons @deenabeverley , all incredibly inspiring.
Life beyond books and art has meant I haven’t yet been able to get along to @cwellesleysmith exhibition ‘Stitching Praxis’ at @batsfordgallery but I’m not giving up hope of attending as there are still a couple of days to go!

If you CAN make it, having read @cwellesleysmith books, and listened to her talk at yesterday’s event,I absolutely urge you to.

It’s on until Sunday and admission is free. Plus, the gallery is attached to the wonderful @batsfordgallery shop, full of delicious books, many at discounted prices. So you can fuel both your craving for books, and deeply meaningful and thought provoking textile art in one venue.
